- Best gaming experience
This thing runs at 5.4 K MHz all 6 cores at the same time. Wide open all the time. Using the simple overclock in the bios. By far the best six core Ever and Ever
Got the 7800x3d for my AM5 build. 7200mhz ram paired with 4090 absolutely flies @ 4k. I play mainly Hunt Showdown and RDR2. Maxes out my 4k 144mhz 43inch Aorus monitor 90% of the time in both games. I love it
super fast, workhorse of a cpu while maintaining decent temperatures at idle and under load.
All the AMD parts work together well. No glitch yet.
Runs cool Easy to overclock Great for gaming, rendering, encoding, etc.
- It's a new AMD cpu. With this being said, I do 100% agree that for similar price, you should go with 7800X3D if you're heavy into gaming. - Undervolted to -15mV, and currently running stable (bought it at release).
- Socket AM5 installation is nerve-wracking, but simple. - Fast base clock with easy overclocking options if you have a strong enough cooler to handle the temps. - Rips through even the most graphically demanding games.
Upgraded from a 12700 to a 14700. Very pleased with the simple upgrade as they share the same socket. Connected the CPU to an Arctic Freezer III cooler, temps max out in the 60C's. Insanely fast for productivity, shader comp and game installs. Running this with a 5080 I get fantastic gaming performance, including heavy ray tracing and multi frame gen FPS.
- Great performance - Low TDP - Backwards compatible with older cooling solutions - 12 cores - I am using an AM5 Asus board and was upgrading; I upgraded the BIOS to make sure I had the latest greatest, took out the old processor and put in the new one. Simple. - It's rock solid and just works. Plain and simple.
Matched this am5 processor from AMD with the ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI motherboard Easy build and configuration lots of processing speed and configuration options. A great choice.
Runs great! Air cooling works fine 24 threads!
Excellent performance. I have had zero issues. It has lots of single and multi-core power and it will likely chew up and spit out anything you throw at it. I upgraded from the first gen 16 core threadripper that was struggling under DX12 ray tracing, and it was a huge upgrade for me.
Fast, Responsive
Roughly 10% better performance over the Ryzen 7 5700X - minuscule, but in case anyone cares to know.

Seemed simple enough to install
Windows 24H2 has a bug that can gimp the CPU Performance. High Performance power plan in Windows R23 score 39000. Ultimate Power Plan 40500. Has no issues maxing out a 7800XT You need to use CMD as admin to unlock the Hidden Ultimate Performance Power Plan. Google it faster at multicore than my 7970X3D and just as fast at lower resolution gaming.
I used this i7 in my latest PC build for Music production. It is a nice processor and gets the job done without issue. I am able to run some of my older projects that struggled on my older system without one audio drop out. My system is stable and fast.
Powerful beast. Chews up whatever I throw at it. Tests very well. Decent buy for the $. Runs cool with my 280mm AIO. New build with this powered up 1st try and has been running great ever since. Built in graphics.
Very fast.
