- Much bigger uplift than what reviewers show over the 7800X3D with the right memory tuning. - Easy to boost to 5.45GHz all-core with Curve Optimizer. - Memory Context Restore now works with Power Down Mode disabled. The 7000 series can't do that.
Got this to replace a Ryzen 5600 system. Noticeable speed increase and runs cooler too. Using it mostly for video file playback and it doesn't chug on 8K or high bit-rate 4K content. Got it on sale so the price was right. A good option for a starter gaming PC.
super fast, workhorse of a cpu while maintaining decent temperatures at idle and under load.
-The best of the best for gaming -Awesome price point, especially on sale -Not power hungry -Runs cool with a good 280mm AIO
Easy to install. Works right out of the box. Seems to "loaf" where the Ryzen 5 2600 I had before had to work harder, so temperatures are rarely above 50 C. Things get done a lot faster now.
- Runs very cool under load (62c in my system). - Excellent productivity performance. - Good gaming performance (Not x3d, but expected) - Smoother windows performance when compared to 5900x.
Great efficiency and speed. Great temps and solid as a rock!

A budget future proof
nice and fast running on a Z690 ASUS hero
I just put my new computer together yesterday, I was building with this Ryzen 9900X and the Radeon RX 9070 XT with 64 GB Ram at 6000 MHZ. I was upgrading from a 5600x and an RTX 2080 Super, the difference has been very noticeable. Everything is loading up faster and gameplay has been very smooth. I'm running a 240 AIO on this CPU and so far, the temps have been stellar. Idle, it's under 40c and while playing games it's sticking to about 60c.
Glad I replaced the temporary 8700G with this. People should also consider this when aiming for a 7800X3D but have a mid to low budget. 7800X3D is way too overpriced today (at least, in Canada), and people should wait to see if they go down in price when 9800X3D comes. Either way, 7700X is worth the price.
Easy to install, chip runs great on games and desktop use. I installed a watercooler and it seems to handle well.
- Great price for performance over AMD for the i5 specifically. - Runs all the same games I ran on my 10th Gen i7, its just 40-50% faster.
16 core 32 threats. Powerful and less power demand.
my in-game framerate doubled! even with a better monitor from 1080p to 1440p. I upgraded motherboard from b450 to b550, vnme 1/2 TB to 1 TB, ram from 2800 to 3333 MHz, and of course the CPU from 3200g to 5800xt. Paired with a 4060 GPU
High clock speeds High tread count Mine is rock solid

Easy to install Thermals out of the box are good. Without overclocking Cinebench score of 39,303 multi-core, 2,229 single core, with a 17.63 MP Ratio.
- great performance - overclockable - great for multitasking and productivity - stays fairly cool even with a cheap air cooler. No overheating issues like the 13th/14th gen CPUs.
- Extremely fast - Very efficient - No Compatibility issues as yet - Great all around work horse if you don't want to go with the I9
Honestly overkill for a gaming rig. But aye 🤷♂
