Works with and USES ECC memory, as confirmed in Ubuntu 24.04 (Kingston KSM48E40BD8KI-32HA). I didn't have to fiddle with the bios at all - either to get full performance in Passmark versus existing baselines, or to get ECC memory to be recognized and to work in Linux. This was great, as I "upgraded" early from my (not old) Gigabyte B760M with the borked 13900K.

Install and startup with 9800X3D was flawless and has been trouble free in operation. Bios was easy to work with for a first time PC builder. The on line manual was comprehensive and answered most questions.

My first Tuff motherboard was a X58 that last thirteen years and my second Tuff motherboard was a Z87 which still runs today after ten years. The bios is easy to navigate. I paired this board up with a i9 i12900k and it is as fast as a Hellcat. I did have some issues with an internet connection while loading Windows but I did some research and got it taken care of. Hopefully I can have the same luck with this Z790 as I have with the other Tuff motherboards. Since I have a rare and unique Cooler Master Nvidia case, I did a retro fit with this motherboard and I think it turned out fine.

- Was easy to recover from a failed firmware upgrade due to bad RAM with BIOS flashback feature. - BIOS is easy to use and tune. - Can use EXPO settings for AMD DDR5 on Intel CPU's. - Runs cool. - Plenty of NVME and SATA ports. - Lots of fan headers and expansion options. - Looks good, not overly done with RGB, a little bit that glows from under the GPU is a nice touch.

Feels very premium and it has lots of extras. Much needed usb connectors! And performs amazing. One of the best looking white motherboards hands down.

Easy to install & has all required ports

Product was easy to install, no major modifications had to be made just minor ones...seems to perform well under heavy gaming. Of course I've only had it for a week but will recommend to my friends.

Workability, Usability, esthetics, was very easy to install and set up. It lets my components breathe and work to the nine without any issues. Set it up with dual boot of windows and a specially made kali linux version they did for me.

Worked out of the box with Ryzen 5600G. Wifi and Bluetooth are great. The wifi antenna looks very cool.

Best pcie5 lanes distribution among all X870 motherboards in my opinion - you can disable usb4 ports to get two pcie5x4 m2 without splitting lanes from the graphics card. Four m2 and two pcie slots. Decent vrm and heat sinks. Good toolless designs.

I like how this board worked out for my build. It is very impressive. Glad this doesn't have Display port or HDMI on the back panel. I have no need for integrated graphics nor their ports. Delete your Drivers and swap video cards out. Why you need IG ? I also don't need wifi but it comes with it. I recommend that you upgrade the bios as soon as you can, Initially it sounded like a Manual Cash Register during the Windows Updates. Loud Bangs, Clicks, and thuds during the Restarts. It added to the Theater of Building. After all the driver updates it's smooth as butter. The Bios is the most user friendly I've ever seen from the Byte people. I'm investigating all the new settings i've never had before. Heavyweight Board and does not feel flimsy. My Boot times were insanely quick due to the dual pcie 5.0 m.2 slots, so quick i disabled the memory fast boot feature just so i feel old school and trying to hide the shame of spending 3k in other parts and components. QUICK Glad i bought much DDR5 before the Great Ram Inflation ! Boo
