Works reliably for me so far, haven't had any issues with it not activating when the button is pressed, as you sometimes hear in reviews of similar products. I've only had it a couple weeks so I can't make any absolute statements yet, but so far it hasn't missed a click or given any indication that it's not reliable. Big improvement over having to manually plug and unplug the fluorescent light in my garage (in an overhead outlet, ugh). As others have said, there's an audible clunk when switching, which I think is a good thing. If I ever do have trouble turning the light on, at least I'll be able to tell whether it's a problem with the switch or the light itself.
