Despite the fact I'm using a 2015 model year motherboard (which does support Gen3 PCIE x4 M2) with Windows 7, I still got 3,200 MB/s read speeds. Write speeds were only 380 MB/s, but that may be due to my OS or MB. I plan to go to Windows 10, so I'm hopeful that will resolve the issue.

Works very good. Has the similar performance as other Samsung SSDs - slightly better than 850 series. I had to replace 860 series. The 860 series does not work good in my AMD motherboard. It even hangs on the Samsung performance test. In contrary , this 870 series as well as 850 series work very good. I have old 850 EVO which is slightly slower but is working for many years now. I checked this 870 EVO in order to replace 860 PRO, which has the above mentioned problems. Sadly there was no 870 PRO available.
