This little dongle is absolutely amazing. Install the drivers, restart the system plug it in, and you are running at 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band.
Picked up all the networks I wanted. I'm not sure how to use everything yet it has WIFI Protect (WPS) looking forward to learn how it works.
I had no issue getting 10g speed with my ASUS 10G switch and CAT 6a cable. It is great getting 500+ mbs copying files from one computer to another.
Included antenna kit
When it received this dongle, it was well packaged and easy to open. It looks small, doesn't take up too much space, and is easy to pack. In the beginning, I doubted its ability to work. After all, the price was not very expensive. But actually, I tested it and found it to be like magic. This wifi do ngle can work in every remote corner of my house and even work in the garage. This is good value for money! Running well, definitely improve my connection speed, according to the wifi speed test site, I can directly see the speed change. It's great to deliver quality products quickly at a great price !
- No install was needed on Windows 10 - Huge upgrade from an older wireless adapter that was 2.4g and dropping. - 5G from several rooms away hit about 200mb transfer rates down and up. - So far no connectivity issues.
Works immediately on my Dell laptop. An incredible upgrade to the original WIFI.
- Plugged in, and worked without installing drivers (which is good because who has a CD drive in 2020) - USB 3 is nicer than my ancient USB 2 wifi adapter. Browser page loading times are noticeably snappier while mindlessly scrolling.
I have a five year old Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5136 (AMD Athlon II P340 processor) that originally had an Atheros AR9285 draft-N wifi adapter and this Intel one beats it by miles as the Atheros was not handling the new Time Warner speeds as well as it should. After changing the wifi card in the laptop, it booted up (Whew! Not whitelisted/blacklisted out, thank goodness...), both Windows 10 and Linux Mint 17.3 recognized the card with no issues, 433.3 mbps link speed. My copy of Linux Mint has been upgraded to the 4.6.2 kernel as well. Looking to try it on Linux Mint 18 Beta this weekend...
Works as advertised inside my metal pole barn with Gigabit internet @ 5.8GHz
Best bang for your buck: Get both 802.11ac 1.2Gbps and Bluetooth connectivity in one card, plus a movable (dual) antenna. Easy installation, manual optional: Turn off and unplug PC, open the side of the case, pop the card into a PCIe x1 slot and screw the bracket into place, connect to a USB header on motherboard (for Bluetooth, apparently; I have plenty of extra USB headers so I didn't question it), and install drivers if necessary. It works!
Latest Connectivity.
