Gigabyte gets my highest Award! They didn't lie or steal my money and I am very happy!
Pros: The mSATA port on the motherboard lets the user install the little mSATA SSD's. An SLC SSD instead of the more common MLC flash memory, which is slower and less reliable than single-level cell which is best suited for the purpose of Intel's Rapid Storage Technology. IRST uses the slc mSATA SSD and your HDD in a RAID setup. The ssd acts like a cache (20 - 24Gb slc msata SSD's are currently being sold but i believe up to 64Gb can be used if you are planning on using another type of SSD. This whole explanation is getting out of hand... This all means really fast load times for commonly used programs, games, and so forth. Gigabyte has its own way of turning it all on called EZ Smart response makes which makes everything EaZy. Very happy with Gigabyte here I recommended their new Z77's which include the onboard msata slot for SSD's as well. This is a great board though and if you're skeptically about leaping forward you can expect a smooth running updated mobo that only time allow
Cons: If you know what you want and you aren't trying to use 3.0 pci express x16 with the Ivy Bridge than no Cons here. If you do want to run the Ivy bridge and 3.0 pci express x16 video cards than go with the newer z77 models.
Overall Review: Great Motherboard and Company as far as I'm concerned. Great support as well but if you have no clue what you're doing with computers please research watch videos and chat online with people that can help you before you call phone support. Basically once you get everything updated and running smooth and the IRST running if you choose to you'll be very happy here. I built my complete setup in one day no big problems aside from me trying to make it a little harder than it really was. Ez Smart Response is the best trust me the only way to go is Gigabyte! They are pioneering in Motherboard technology.
Thor Case from Rosewill
Pros: huge case
Cons: After 3 tries I decided this case's packing and design wasn't capable of making it through shipping. UPS or Fed ex couldn't get one to me undamaged. Rosewill needs to protect their cases with better foam and packing practices.
Overall Review: New Egg is great and tried as hard as possible to get the case I had wanted to me. In the end no luck. They refunded all my money no problems :) I ended up buying a different case locally and it works great. It's packaging was much better and if I had ordered it from new egg it probably would have made it through shipping.
Pros: great CPU
Cons: not a huge jump from sandy bridge but for a straight up general type user or gamer best cpu you can get not a whole lot better than i5 sandy or ivy but still better is better. Depending on the game you would not be able to tell but Total War maxed out in big battles or moving around a crowded campaign map with lots of smoke and flags flying...if you've played the game you know what i'm talking about...or anything that uses multi-thread technology that is on the rise such as first person shooter Battlefield 3 which seems to be another that you can tell the difference between i5 and i7...this is all considering you use the same setup other than switching CPUs
Overall Review: pair with almost any z77 mobo and you'll be very happy. cool at stock settings with stock fan but for intense long hours or anything more a better cooling solution is advised.
This is my second R4
Pros: It is just like the R4 without the window...if you want to know how good the regular one was I reviewed it as well...short version its the best case on the market for the money(79.99 on sale got this one for 89.99 on sale as well both good deals) from what I've seen Fractal stands above the other case companies so far.
Cons: It has a window...Not as silent as my first R4 and The window is doing nothing at all but helping increase the noise level...If you guys could send me another Right side panel I'd up the eggs here but as is I'm docking you because you don't even have that option.
Overall Review: I really wish Fractal would release an R4 without any bloody windows or side vents for fan panels. Just Two right side panels essentially the plain panels. Two plain side panels shouldn't be that hard to figure out. Looks great that way when I take the one off my first case to try it out also much more silent. All this is true but if you really love windows you'll not be disappointed best window design of all cases no stupid looking rivets around the outside
Pros: innovative looking design...
Cons: Crappola...I shouldn't have to waste anymore time but...the drive bays for optical drives are designed with catches for the faceplates they have installed as covers but those bulk out the frame around the sides of the drives...looks like the drives are too wide but really case design flaw. Next up the front intake fans have the cheapest magnetic filter they could imagine fridge magnets glued onto screen and not easy to access although it should've been. the others aren't as bad I will say that much for it. I bought this one because it looked like it was designed with versatility and good quality but pictures are worth one word here in the end...Crappola
These are 2 dual channel Kits sold as quad
Pros: These may be very great sticks of memory I am just warning anyone because I was looking for a quad kit and I've noticed Newegg can be a bit misleading. If you go to Corsair site you'll see. I only gave one egg so to attract attention to newegg staff hopefully so they start taking better care in how they advertise these kits on here. These are fine for use on a dual channel mobo like z68,z77 but not truly intended for x79 for example. I think we could all use a little better product description for mem modules...hire someone who understands. People want to buy the right thing the first time. Not everyone is a evil mastermind of computer building and they needs more help.
Cons: unknown I don't actually own these just trying to help so disreguard the one egg if you know what your shopping for and actually plan to put these on a dual channel mobo.
Overall Review: I would do a great ammount of research before buying any computer componet in the end only you will be setting around dealing with it later wishing you'd got the right stuff as so many probably do self evident from bad reviews for perfectly good products if anyone actually reads these.
