ASUS RoG Still Impresses Me
Pros: -no Windows 10 issues -very useful utilities available for enthusiasts -replete BIOS options for fans, OC, XMP, etc. -USB boot, BIOS Flashback with built in recovery, and USB 3.0 everywhere -RGB sync with peripherals
Cons: -was expecting more internal fan headers -pricey; sometimes you get what you pay for?
Overall Review: -hopefully this Z270 chipset works better with the 7700k than the flashed bios for the Z170 -do not install 3rd party RGB programs until you have first tinkered with Asus Aura first; doing so will cause both programs to crash indefinitely
Gears, what for?
Pros: nothing. i never was able to d/l the game.
Cons: too many steps to get to the game d/l. game had no d/l links. must be intended for those running windows 8.1 or 10. i just recently went back to 7.
Overall Review: microsoft really should have handed the d/l off to steam. it's another one of those situations with big corporations (sony, microsoft, apple) try to bite into something else that another company does and fails miserably. if it's included with a purchase just know that either you'll have a difficult time getting the product, or not getting it at all.
Rose, will you give me a refund? :P
Pros: did what i needed to do at the time, inexpensive.
Cons: being out of the computer gaming scene for awhile I didn't do my research and find out that HDMI cables don't support 144Hz at 1080p. Shame on me, not on the manufacturer. Pretty sure this cable was locked down to 60Hz and the monster cable I had for the TV to PS4 was 120Hz. Still hurts that I wasn't getting all the frequency out of my monitor.
Overall Review: gave it to a friend for his TV to STB since his was jacked up.
Meh...
Pros: -Faster base and boost than the 6700k I had. -'Potentially' a higher OC than the 6700k -Kaby Lake sounds better than Sky Lake?
Cons: -Silicon Lottery Rules in effect; may the RNG be with you -Had lots of trouble overclocking over 4.8 GHz stable; 6700k overclocked stable at 4.8 GHz effortlessly -Only officially supported with Windows 10
Overall Review: -Knew going into purchase I may have to 'delid' this processor in order to rectify cooling issues; EKWB Predator 240 ran seemlessly with the 6700k and can't seem to do enough to keep 7700k cool when going over 4.6 GHz -Be sure to double check BIOS on motherboard prior to purchase, otherwise you're going to have a bad time -Thanks, Intel
Nice!
Pros: -'baster' and mini spatula make application less messy -non-conductive
Cons: -pricey when considering "gram/dollar" cost analysis
Overall Review: -I used this to apply in lieu of MFR's TIM (thanks Intel *cough* *cough*); hard to tell exact delta because I replaced the water cooling loop and thermal paste on top of the heat plate (able to overclock CPU higher than before though) -should last awhile assuming: I reapply once a year on CPU die for TIM purposes and product doesn't degrade substantially over time -will update should issues arise
Get This
Pros: -bright, vivid -UV lighting got my water cooled setup looking fresh AF -lengthy -magnetic; must have (stop buying plastic cases even though they're cheaper)
Cons: -definitely wider than I had originally anticipated; needed to rethink how to run strips
Overall Review: -pre-programmed lighting arrangements are phenomenal; I leave mine on the 'auto' setting
Do Not Waste Your Time
Item was not listed as back ordered. Contacted customer service and was told it was on the way. I checked the USPS tracking number provided; post office was still awaiting item delivery. It's been 2+ weeks since I've ordered. I have started the refund process. I'll take my money back. Can I get it with a side of time as well?
Very Good Business
I would recommend any EKWB products to friends and family. Their customer service is beyond reproach. If I could give 6 eggs, I would.
Great Seller
Products are still a bit pricey. I took an egg off on the product for this, not the seller though.
