These are SAS drives, not sata

Seagate Constellation ES ST2000NM0001 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SAS 6Gb/s 3.5" Enterprise Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Constellation ES ST2000NM0001 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SAS 6Gb/s 3.5" Enterprise Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: These are great SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) drives. They have SAS connectors on them, not sata. Trying to wire them up to a sata cable connector will not work. Wiring them to a SAS cable connector will. You will need a SAS controller for these drives. LSI / 3ware makes some great universal controllers that can be connected to either a SAS or SATA drive. Also, some server motherboards (like Tyan or ASUS) have both SAS and SATA controllers / connections onboard.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Most hot-swap backplanes are universal, and can take either a SAS or SATA drive. So if you buy these you'll either need a SAS cable or SAS/SATA hot-swap drive bay/enclosure. I'm currently using these in a Chenbro RM31616ML chassis (16 hot swap SAS/SATA drive bays).

Wenger Swiss Gear PATRIOT WA-7953-02F00 Rolling 2-Piece Business Set
Wenger Swiss Gear PATRIOT WA-7953-02F00 Rolling 2-Piece Business Set

Pros: My five year old Swissgear PATRIOT laptop case finally gave out tonight after over 400 commercial flights and 250,000 miles.

Cons: One of the two wheels detached and went flying down the jetway. I knew it was the end after that.

Overall Review: This is an awesome bag that far exceeded my expectations. Going to order another tonight for delivery Thursday....

Awesome device, easy to use

Pros: This is an awesome little unit, very easy to configure, works great. Even though this was billed as refurbished, it appeared brand new as it was in perfect condition and set with factory default configuration. At half the price of new it was a super deal.

Cons: None

Overall Review: This unit's factory default IP is 10.0.1.1; it's a little easier to set it up if you assign a static IP to the host used to configure it (like hard coding your PC's IP to 10.1.1.100/8). That way you don't have to mess with the name resolution of www.asusrouter.com (which is used to configure the unit). Also, there's a utility that can be downloaded (it's probably on the setup disk but that didn't come with this refurb unit). By the way, not having the disk is no problem, the Asus support site is fantastic, and had the latest firmware, 1.0.1.7f, which I also downloaded and installed (1.0.1.7d came with the unit). PS - Really cool looking form factor and blue lights!

Great mATX Small Form Case

In Win BK623.BH300TB mATX case with IP-P300BN1-0 H Haswell Ready power supply, PPCT, USB 2.0 x 4, HD audio, Air Filter

Pros: Awesome little case for basic PC configurations. Took me a bit to figure it all out, but after that everything came together nicely. I like this case so much I just bought 3 more for various projects.

Cons: Instructions aren't the greatest, but didn't take long to figure out how it all goes together. Not necessarily a con, but not sure how this case would do with an add-on video card.

Overall Review: I got this case for my wife's Windows 8 Pro system. She has a small desk in the kitchen so space is at a premium. This case was just what was needed. Much smaller than her old mATX case. I love the design, unique and functional. I'm building three more systems (a couple test units and an HTPC). Great job InWin.

Coolest thing of the week!

KINGWIN HDCV-2 Dual 2.5" to 3.5" SATA HDD Converter w/ Raid
KINGWIN HDCV-2 Dual 2.5" to 3.5" SATA HDD Converter w/ Raid

Pros: This little 2.5" to 3.5" HDD enclosure is officially the coolest thing of the week. Using one (1) SATA-II connection you can connect two (2) 2.5" HDD's or SSD's. Perfect for a pair of SSD's used for OS. Selectable RAID 0, 1, JBOD. No drivers needed. Tested with Windows 7/2008 and CentOS 5.8. Absolutely no issues, plug and play. Great little unit.

Cons: Only 1, it's just SATA-II, hoping they come out with SATA-6.0 soon.

Overall Review: Looks cool two, has the same outline on the top of the drive as a real 3.5" drive. Really a clever solution. In RAID1 / mirror it yields an HA (high availability) solution in one enclosure.

Pretty good drives for the money

Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: This is just a revision from my previous review bumping my overall rating from 4 eggs to 5.

Cons: None additional

Overall Review: Seems I incorrectly submitted the RMA for the one DOA drive which resulted in a charge to me of $13.20. I called NewEgg today and the rep noticed that and voluntarily offered to credit me back the $13.20 so there was no charge to me to replace the drive. Once again NewEgg comes through with excellent customer service.
