good board

Pros: good board, good chipset and supports a variety of raid setups. alot of extras and I mounted it into a couple of cases but eventaul stayed with the Antec Nine hundred. Instructions werent the best but if your buying this to build you probably dont need them anyway with the exception of my other thoughts. There is a voltage issue with the bios that the board is shipped with.
Cons: Instructions make no mention of a Bios/Voltage issue you may encounter when installing DDR2 pc6400 Ram. I believe if you try to install ram with a voltage of 1.9 to 2.1 or higher the bios from the factory will not recognize it and you will get a black screen. How ever this is some what easily fixed be downloading the flash utillity and current bios from ASUS and aquiring some older low voltage ram. With the older ram you can boot into the setup and complete the process of updating the Bios at which point the board will no longer function with the older ram. You then install the newer higher voltage ram and you are good to go.
Overall Review: I like ASUS boards and will continue to use them. I did get shipped a bad board before and ASUS squared me away with a good one..... I stay loyal. I noticed someone writting that it didnt support the intel duo 2.. but this might have actually been the real problem
Known problems that they will not fix

Pros: When it works the features are nice. good signal strength.
Cons: Where do I start. The wps feature on this router will start up when the router is rebooted or powered on after initial setup. The problem is, that when the wps feature is running, it stops the radio functions of the router. There is no way to keep this from happening. In short, if you need to reboot etc for any reason, (which you will). your router will be useless for Wi-Fi. until the WPS stops. I have had it go for more than a day before. it is so frustrating. I have done my research and many others have found this problem. Netgear is aware of it. There support is frustrating. (oversees). they treat you as they would treat themselves. (as if you know nothing). They had me return my router to newegg and I was sent a new one. This does not help! 2. The DLNA server will not update your files as you add them to your attached usb storage. I have fought with this to. although you can access the added files from your computer through the network drive, the DNLA server feature will not see them. I had their tech support try to help with this as well. other than having me log into the readyshare app on the computer to add the files, they were not much help and the problem still persists.
Overall Review: I think Netgear tried to add to many features to this device. some are not needed and most do not work as they should. I hope they can work the bugs out of this device and if they do, it will be worth buying. But until they do, I would not buy this again. I have wanted to throw it against the wall a few to many times.
known problem with board. do your research

Pros: Good board, good features but there is a catch.
Cons: If you use the wireless feature of this board and or in combination with the software. Your system will power on by it self. Yes you read that correctly. Google it or go to Tom's hardware and read about it. There are some things you can do to get around the issue.
Good drive

Pros: affordable, easy, works as described. Despite some of the reviews I read, this drive does play Blu Ray movies, and is not loud at all. I guess they must have gotten the ones that had been dropped on the floor or something.
Cons: none
they work

Pros: good value..... you get what you pay for...
Cons: Had to send back my first pair due to bad stick. The default speed will be less than advertised when the value is set through the Spd. You have to manually set the timing and I am told they don't run good for over clocking...
Overall Review: I plan on upgrading to Vista and I am told I will need ever bit of the 2GB s. I plann on bench marking these to see what I can get out of them I hope to ovver clock just a bit. running E6600 on a asus p5b deluxe with 1200 GB raid 10... so far so good.
Need to stay cool

Pros: The air flow is great... I am running a 4 hard drive raid and they run hot so this should do the trick as far as that goes. the fans are quite even on high. plenty of bay space.
Cons: sort of crowded in cerain areas especially the pci slot above the power supply.. i had to mount the power supply up side down because of the fan on it. this made attaching the sound cables for the audio connectors on the top of the case to the sound card I mounted in the bottom pci slot impossible. not a big deal I dont think i would use the jacks anyway. I question the choice of metal used in the case, I think it will be vunerable to corrision...oh yeah and the flobby drive bay adapter to adapt the floppy for the 5 1/4 bay is cheesy... you may fight with it...
Overall Review: Over all I like it... and it looks cool with the ghetto lights on it and the clear sided pannel........
