Awesome item
Pros: Apevia PSU have served me well. They have lasted me even with some of the odd things ive done. Any failure that ive had from their PSU has been on my side.
Cons: n/a
Overall Review: Would like a modular one, but that was my mistake getting a non modular one.
Shock and Awe at first, disappointment over all
Pros: This card looks awesome. 100% sexy card
Cons: Where do I start. I started off with this thing in Far Cry 3, pumped settings to max, it looked great. seemed like I was getting 60 fps as it was rather smooth. I started looking into it a bit when I noticed odd stuttering while playing Archeage and I would get several people on my screen. AMD Over Drive notes the GPU is running at 450 MHZ at max load. If I read correctly, the BASE CLOCK of this card is 1050.... I understand the power stepping but what the heck is going on. I have contacted Asus support and it WAS HORRIBLE. It took 3 or 4 days to get an answer which seemed canned or from some one who used google translator to send the email to me. The steps are Unseat, clean the PCI-E slot, "Clean the gold finger". Lets stop there. What the heck is the "gold finger" exactly? This a new term that I havent picked up on after 15 years of working / building / repairing computers? You could use a work around such as "Clockblocker" to lock in the clock settings but it seems the card acts funny. Sum it all up, this card looks like on paper but preforms like a paper weight. - With FPS in games such as Far Cry 4, max details @ 25-35 and the clock speed MAYBE reaching 500? - Also the Crimson software CRASHES ALL THE FREAKING TIME.
Overall Review: I have been an AMD user for a LONG time, and have always recommended AMD products (since 1999 when I built my first PC) but I am not so sure now. I am really thinking of contacting Asus to see if I can have this thing replaced w/ a 970 or a 960ti or something.
Works great
Pros: The push button to clip into place is nice Locks in well
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: Good product. Worth the buy.
Works as expected
Pros: Locks in and works
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: Quick shipping, cable sleeves match what is on the PSU already. Good product
Good fan for a reasonable price
Pros: Seems to put out a ton of air
Cons: None that I have found
Overall Review: I am using this for my Asus Strix R9 390 video card. The fans died on the shroud and Asus refused to replace them or even sell me new ones! These keep the card pretty cool @ about 42c idle and 65c while gaming (better then the fans that came on the card).
Awesome
Pros: The color is awesome compared to my LED back lit LCD, the whites really pop and the blacks are actually black instead of a grey/black.
Cons: The biggest "con" is that you have to bump the brightness up a lot if you use a lot of dark colors to see them easier, however, this is subjective and not really a con.
