Love It!
Pros: Set-Up went smoothly *after* a Service Ticket decoded the error code. Seems even though I specifically requested an "M" (Multicast) card from Mediacom, they gave me an "S" card (Single-cast) telling me it was the right card!
Cons: The Error Code Message could have been a little more verbose and saved me the time for the Service Ticket.
Overall Review: Now, if I could only get stinking Mediacom to fix their cable feed so that the signal strength doesn't drop out when it rains! (Unfortunately, I am the *only* customer on this particular feed.) It *has* to be an "M" Card... Nothing else will work...
!NOT!
Pros: NONE. Not even going to install it after the reviews confirmed my worst fears and after reading the license. Wish I could return it. But, had to open the package to read up on it.
Cons: 1. Uses Windows Activation Technology. 2. Single System License not the Single User Multiple System as expected. Which makes it useless to image my families systems and upgrade harddrives. 3. My primary system is Win7x64 with multiple WinXPsp3's.
Overall Review: What I really needed was Disk tranferring software for use across my entire household. *This* product isn't it! I think the best bet when upgrading to a larger Hard Drive is to use the Drives manufacturers software. Which if not included can usually be downloaded from their sites.
They Just Work
Pros: The length was what was needed. The Dell GX520 drive placement requires this length if you want to 'dress them out' pretty.
Cons: None really
Overall Review: This appears to be a well made cable. Not flimsy at all.
Great Value
Pros: Works well. Provided raw material to mount my 2.5" drives. Made of metal. The way Dell made the GX520 pretty much precludes an over the counter adapter. This (if you own a Nibbler) is a great adapter.
Cons: Doesn't fit Dell snap in Hard driver Carriers as used in a GX520
Overall Review: Because they were a 'good' fit for the Dell snap in drive holders I trimmed the shorter cross member to allow the adapter to fit where the drive cables could make a connection. Then found out the snap-in adapter had a piece in the way. That was removed as well. Hey, I was already pretty deep into it. of course positioning the adapter where the cables could connect meant that the other end was no longer secured... A little two sided foam tape fixed that.
Horrible Support
Pros: Works
Cons: Got a reminder e-mail this morning that my Service was about to expire after the 90 days 'Free' support period. *But* that I could get continuing service for *AS LOW AS* $80! I do not remember what the published hardware warranty is. But, their web site makes it clear that you can't contact them with out a support contract.
Overall Review: I will *NEVER* voluntarily buy or have purchased for me a Netgear product Period! BTW I am 60 and have been a Professional Electronics Tech since I was 17... I have never had *any* vendor have such a sell it and forget it attitude before.
Excellent Value
Pros: No Problems whatsoever.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I ordered Red, Green and Blue 25 ft Cat 6 Cables to make the run from my 1GB router to my Video Center. The Different Colors make it a snap to trace our the cables and know what goes where. Probably should have ordered Red, White and Blue! Oh Hind Sight and all that. :)
