Best Gaming-Performance RAM you can buy for 115* builds!
Pros: Fast, just fast!!
Cons: None
Overall Review: The G.skill Trident series was fantastic for my old build, and the Ripjaw series didn't disappoint in the least. Perfect results for both overclocking and underclocking and makes no fuss. Combined with an unlocked CPU and this RAM is gold!
works the mainstream
Pros: quite compatble with even the most dificult of my hardware. E8400 P5N-D mobo OCZ DDR2-800 5-5-5-15 XFX Geforce 250 GTS 1gb/256bit 700Watt OCZ PSU
Cons: you can't overclock this mobo no matter how much you try. Read the previous reviews about it. I don't know what the deal is with this mobo, but despite how well you cool it, overclocking just willl NOT happen.
Everything works as advertised
Pros: For a refurbished product, no issues, no defections, everything works as advertised.
Cons: I got the motherboard, and ONLY the motherboard. No software or hardware that comes with a new motherboard, including M.2 screws. Yeah they actually shipped this motherboard with no M.2 mini screws that hold M.2 cards in place. I had one to spare from my old Z97 mobo, but I have to find 2 more M.2 screws for my wifi card and 2nd NVMe M.2 card. Also the package had a huge crease on it where something of heavy weight was placed on top of it, right on top of the rear audio jacks. I was very lucky it wasn't damaged.
Overall Review: Buying refurbished maybe a bit cheaper, but you risk damage as well as not receiving any hardware or software that comes with new in box.
Gas Gas Gas!
Pros: Hair on fire FAST!
Cons: None
Overall Review: Upgraded from a 4790k/Z97 to this 9900k/z390 and all speeds have literally doubled or more. Absolutely gorgeous.
Ice Cold Cooling... if you can survive the installation.
Pros: Cannot get my CPU cores to even touch 55*C! Super quiet and chills to the max!
Cons: I've been a loyal Zalman cooler customer for 15 years, but the mount setup that comes with this cooler has to be bar none, the WORST mount I've ever had the " pleasure " of installing. Whoever was behind the engineering of this mount setup needs to be FIRED. You absolutely CANNOT install this cooler onto your motherboard while in the case if you're using an 115* CPU. Not even a full size monster case will make a difference. The tool that comes with the package will prevent this unless you have a set of long Allan screwdrivers just lying about. On top of that, even while installing outside the case, you'll be fighting gravity the entire time because you have to hold the back screw socket in place with one hand behind the motherboard, while pressing down on the screw with the screwdriver to thread with the other hand with nothing solid to place the motherboard on. You have to do it all while floating it by hand. But the horror doesn't stop there. Being you have to mount it outside the case, after installing the mobo, the cooler's gonna be all up in your grill while you count the fbombs trying to install your top left mobo screws and your 8pin CPU power connector.
Overall Review: The performance of this cooler is off the charts fantastic, if you survive the horrors of the mount installation that is. I give it 4 stars because of the incredible complexity of the installation.
Epic Motherboard!!
Pros: Fantastic BIOS software and friendliness, made with pure performance and gaming in mind, not a single struggle to account for in any part of the setup, just an all around for the comp builders' love Motherboard!!!!! I put a 4790k I7 Haswell into this baby with a 980gtx vid card and Trident ddr3-2400 RAM, and I cannot get the FPS to dip below 60 w/ everything set to ultra in FC4 and ACU!! This motherboard completely blows away any Z97 build reviews and expectations I've scrutinized and it isn't even OC'd!!
Cons: None, just none! This mobo is a Z97 dreamhouse!!
Overall Review: This should be common knowledge to anyone that builds their comps but I'm still gonna post it here for good measure. The Gskill Trident ddr3-2400 RAM specs had to be manually adjusted via the BIOS to 1600mhz @ 7-9-9-24 RAS, which is the stock RAM frequency for the 4790k cpu. I bought the ddr3-2400 frequency to OC in the future.
