Great for the money
Pros: Simple exterior, screweless entry, ducting, 450W PS
Cons: Cables are too long
Overall Review: This case isn't bad for the money at all - it worked flawlessly out of the box. I've had no power supply problems to speak of. The ducting on the side of this case provides adequate air flow to the processor (although its about 1/2" off center of the processor in my case). There is a nice little recess to put most of your excess cabling, which is convenient since the front panel wires and power cables are about 6" too long. Overall, I would definitely buy this case again.
Solid board, good price
Pros: Highly upgradable (CrossFire, 3xPCI, 4xSATA), GbE, onboard HD 7.1, well laid out, very stable, good power management
Cons: uses Intel chipset instead of Nvidia (SLI would have made this board much more desirable). Dynamic fan speed control is lacking.
Overall Review: Il9 Pro, Pentium D 2.6GHz, Geforce 7600GT, 3GB DDR2 (Dual channel asymmetric), Vista Ultimate Comptuer is stable as a rock, runs F.E.A.R. and Q4 very smoothly. No problems encountered.
you get what you pay for
Pros: Easy setup, fully Vista compatable, fully MCE compatable, remote, RCA/S-VID in, stereo recording, hardware encoding
Cons: The remote is not built into the desktop box - this unit requires two USB ports to work correctly.
Overall Review: I've bought many different TV-tuners and alleged PVRs, but this one works better than any I've used in the last 10 years. It is quick and intuative - not to mention that it works flawlessly with Media Center and Vista (being used on a Vista Ultimate machine). If you intend to use the PVR function, be prepared to fork over some hard drive space @ 1-2GB/hour.
Like a rock
Pros: Great layout, user-friendly BIOS, very stable, nice glowing ASUS logo, goodies on the install disc. O/C Recover feature, customizable boot screen
Cons: could stand to have more memory slots. IDE2 is inconveniently placed.
Overall Review: This board is excellent for the money - ASUS delivers again. The board is rock solid and well designed. The capacitors near the CPU socket worried me a bit (from the picture), but they are very low profile and should not hinder most heatsink installations. The glowing logo is a neat addition.
You get what you pay for
Pros: Brand name, fast, compatible, comes with ramsink
Cons: price
Overall Review: This is plug-and-go RAM, if you have a motherboard that supports DDR2 RAM, I definitely recommend this. It is brand name, and is slightly more expensive in general, but when it comes to memory, you DO get what you pay for.
