Asus VH238H Black 23" Full HD HDMI LED Backlight LCD Monitor w/Speakers 250 cd/m2 ASCR 50,000,000:1

Pros: Nice screen and much bigger than my previous 17" Sony monitor Frame is very nice looking with the black high gloss and matching pedastal Good compatibility with various connections on the back

Cons: Internal speakers are not very good, so don't buy these for the sound Pedastal base does not support vertical height adjustment only tilt

Overall Review: Currently hooked via VGA cable to my laptop so not sure how it will look with HDMI or my DVI cable once computer build is done. Think it will look AWESOME though

So far not so good..........

Cooler Master HAF X RC-942-KKAA00 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case w/ Cooler Master RSA00-80GAD3-US 1000W Power Supply
Cooler Master HAF X RC-942-KKAA00 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case w/ Cooler Master RSA00-80GAD3-US 1000W Power Supply

Pros: Came with 1k watt power supply, tooless drive bay installation, big enough for all my periphrials, heavy solid construction, back plate cut out for air cooler mounting, Hot swap drive bays, massive airflow.

Cons: My case was shipped used! still had motherboard standoffs installed, window side case cover lower thumbscrew was shipped inside case..why? cause hole was stripped out!!, back lower portion of case where power supply sits was miss-aligned and bent. The supply boxes shipped with case weren't tied down inside of case so the enitire shipement they just banged around on the inside. Though I was still willing to overlook all the shortfalls as long as it all still worked...see other thoughts.

Overall Review: Saw several reviews about the case frying the motherboard. Thought no way that's gonna happen to me....Well after a long wait and finally receiving my gigabyte motherboard and installing everything....powered up system and puffff what do you know a small fire on the motherboard!!! I hope it didn't destroy any of my other hardware like the GTX580 I put in!! Sent the case back to the egg so hoping I get a quick turn around and can start this over again with some success next time. When new case comes in and I get system up and running, hopefully without spontaneous combustion of the motherboard I'll provide a follow up review.

Great Sound

Logitech Z523 40 Watts RMS 2.1 Speaker System
Logitech Z523 40 Watts RMS 2.1 Speaker System

Pros: Speakers sound as if you have a center channel, Woofer is LOUD!, mid range sound reproduction is great for a desktop system. Speakers look nice perfectly match my Asus monitors.

Cons: Volume knob is touchy either no sound or to loud cant seem to find that right median for those late night gaming sessions so I control through the use of audio driver. Think it's a bit overpriced so 1 egg off for that

Overall Review: Even with the touchy knob and higher price I'm still happy with this purchase.

Best Air CPU Cooler!!

Noctua NH-D14, Premium CPU Cooler with Dual NF-P14 PWM and NF-P12 PWM Fans (Brown)
Noctua NH-D14, Premium CPU Cooler with Dual NF-P14 PWM and NF-P12 PWM Fans (Brown)

Pros: So Quiet!! First time I powered on system I thought the fans weren't running. This is the best cpu cooler I have ever seen and used. The contact base came nicely polished and was perfectly flat, afixed to cpu and removed to see the thermal paste spread and it looked great!! The push/pull system works good though make sure you have the correct orientation so your not keeping the hot air in your case. Accessory case came with everything and a bag of chips (better for the amount of money this thing costs LOL) Installation was hassel free and easy, great instructions provided by Noctua.

Cons: It is huge! so plan on getting a Large case for it. I purchased a HAFx and the cooler barely has enough room to clear my GTX 580. Only about 3-4mm of room between the two. I could have changed orientation but it actually pulls air around the Video Card so I think I'm getting dual cooling out of it video & CPU. My RAM was on the compatibilty but still had to install the RAM first before the cooler. Make sure you check the Noctua website RAM compatability list to ensure there is enough headspace from the bottom of the cooler pipes to the top of the RAM heatsink.

Overall Review: I have CPU overclocked to 4.4Ghz and CPU idle temps are running at 72 F. Going to run Prime and see what the temps do under max load with this cooler. I don't mind it being big in fact if your going to overclock your cpu bigger is not always better but this time it is! Some have complained about the aestetics of it and I see their point, however to me it doesn't matter. If it keeps my cpu cool and is quiet at the same time I'll put a Pink and Purple one in the case. (though I would probably keep it out of sight as well LOL)

It's a BEAST!!

Intel Core i7-2600K - Core i7 2nd Gen Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Intel HD Graphics 3000 Desktop Processor - BX80623I72600K
Intel Core i7-2600K - Core i7 2nd Gen Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Intel HD Graphics 3000 Desktop Processor - BX80623I72600K

Pros: Fast Faster Fastest. Talk about Bang for the Buck this Chip is it. Have it slightly overclocked to 3.9 GHz and runs at 68F under light load. Have a Noctua Nh-d14 on it so gonna see what this thing can do!!

Cons: None that I can see right now

Overall Review: had to wait an extra week to get system up and running do to mobo fire, shipping the CM HAFx back for a new one, and then the first SSD that was shipped was DOA. Even with all this stuff it was worth the wait. hopefully (knock on wood) nothing else breaks since half the time 30 day time frame went towards shipping stuff back to the egg.

WOW!!

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card GV-N580UD-15I
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card GV-N580UD-15I

Pros: Card slams dunks everything I throw at it without even flinching. You will be mystified by how the rendering looks!! Glad I purchased it. Runs nice and cool in my HAFx

Cons: Dang it's expensive!! was going to SLI them but decided against it bought a nice maple credenza instead. Did I mention these things are expensive! The support arm for graphics card that comes with the HAFx doesn't quite fit this card. The heat transfer pipe on the bottom of the card is in the way to get the holder completely affixed on the card. Though it fits well enough to support the card in a marginal way.
