Pros: This is a very nice board. I am running it with an AMD A4-6300 Richland processor, 16 GB Corsair RAM, and a 120GB Kingston SSD. The on-board graphics seem phenomenal to me, granted I am using this mostly for streaming movies to my TV Set on my HTPC. That said, the 1080p is much better than my previous, large add on graphics card. The BIOS is very easy to get into and set controls, as is the windows software (AI Suite) that goes with it. Everything was set up and running quickly so I am very pleased with this purchase.
Cons: The biggest con that I have is the placement of the ATX power connector on the board. It is placed far off to one edge of the board, and the board is just too small to include a 3rd set of screws for the standoffs in a standard case. They also did not add holes to allow you to put a plastic standoff between the board and the case, so the board may bend when installing the ATX connectors. Just be sure to hold the board as you put pressure on this connector to get it seated properly without damaging the board. The other con is no 1394 Firewire header. That doesn't really bother me as I have never used firewire, I just cant remember the last MB that I purchased that did not have this and I now have a firewire port on my case that is not hooked up to anything.
Overall Review: the system boots to windows 8 in just over 6 seconds - I am not sure the claim of 2 seconds they make is accurate, but maybe with better latency and 64 GB of ram and a much faster processor it would be doable. 6 seconds is still very, very fast!
Pros: This router has really, really fast wireless. I honestly just thought all wireless was slow and didn't know what I was missing until I got this. The signal strength is rock solid, goes much further than my old d-link, and did I mention it is fast??? I really upgraded it to get a more solid signal strength and the gigabit lan for my wired connections. I certainly am not disappointed.
Cons: None yet. It is larger than my old router, that is about it.
Overall Review: As soon as I set it up, i followed the manufacturers recommendations shown in other posts to maximize the signal strength as well as to upgrade the firmware. I would recommend the same for anyone else purchasing this router.
Does the Job
Pros: No errors, fast speeds, stable system, what more can I say? I have never been disappointed in any corsair products that I have purchased. They are very reliable.
Cons: My MB recognized the speed at DDR3 1300 instead of 1600, but it was an easy change in the BIOS to get up to the correct speed and they run stable. My MB manual actually warned that this is a common problem, so I am not sure where the blame should go for it. That being said, they do run stable at the 1600 speed so I am pleased.
Does the Job
Pros: Love the processor and it has excellent video. I am running it at stock speeds in an ASUS A88X-PLUS MB with 16 GB of Ram for an HTPC, and I am booting into Windows 8 in just over 6 seconds. The system is very fast and stable. Utilizing the on-board graphics gets rid of any add-on cards in the case for me, so there is a lot of airflow. My CPU temps are low, even with the stock fan on it. I think having the extra space in the case from my last system (which had a large graphics card and an audio card) make all the difference for getting good airflow. I am very pleased with this purchase.
Overall Review: The heatsink/fan is smaller than I had expected, but since I have no add-on cards it seems to be more than adequate in creating the airflow that I need to keep the system cool.
Pros: It seems more stable then any of my other routers were, easy to make changes to the settings. Excellent value for the price.
Cons: I couldnt figure out how to name my wireless network, so it is just named "Default". This is fine with me, others can see a network no matter what it is named!
Overall Review: This router has been rock solid for me for about 2 weeks now. I usually have a router die every year and a half, so I have tried lots of brands of wireless routers (Netgear, DLink, Linksys) and I am very happy to have given this Zonet router a try. I run this on a small LAN, and it was the easiest setup I have ever seen on a router. Everything was up quickly and easily. I have not had to reset it once since it was set up, and I thought the security setup on wireless network was easy as well (using AES). If you are even looking at this router, you should check it out.
