Dynamo in a small Package
Pros: The Pro's 1. It's small and discrete. 2. If you use WPS to setup, its a snap to get going. 3. Works very nice with other brand gear. 4. The cost is very affordable. 5. It's daisy chainable. 6. 1 year warranty 7. DLink Customer Support is one of the best in the Business.
Cons: The Con's 1. The manual could be better. 2. I could not connect via web browser using the link in the manual "http://dlinkap265e.local". Instead I used "http://dlinkap" Like on all the other DLink ap's and the setup page magically appeared. 3. The device shows up as SSID: "DLink-265e" as Default using WPS instead of DAP1320 yet even the setup page is labeled DAP-1320.. This can be confusing when you have a lot of networks in range and expect to see a model #. This was the 2nd confusing aspect of Setting up the device manually using the web browser. Later I did the manual setup from my browser and changed the SSID. Later I noticed that the SSID ID DLink-265e is on the stickers supplied.
Overall Review: Signal strength is excellent but my throughput dropped about 20% with the DAP1320 at about 20 feet from the router. Overall it's a great device and would be a trouble free setup with a few changes in the manual These would be great in office or home networks especially where a clean appearance and simple wire free setup is a must. I would highly recommend these for those who need a very simple network range extension or for those who desire a discreet appearance to there environment. Also you can buy 2 of these for the price of a full size 'ap' and two of these should cover every square centimeter of the average home or office.
Not Recommended
Pros: Clean look in a small package.
Cons: This 'REVIEW' took Me quite a bit longer than normal as I wanted to give the product and Net gear every chance to be successful. I literally have spent hours trouble shooting, consulting and diagnosing this modem. There are several things that disappointed me about this product. For one when I opened the box containing the modem there was a letter inside from the "Net Gear Team", It wasn't the letter that was disappointing but rather the fact that it stated that there was a special Email and contact Set up for Eggspert Reviewers, This leads me to believe that Net Gears normal support is lackluster in comparison and that this line of communication is the exception and not the rule. This means a great deal to me as, I value 50% of a products worth by it's support. Another disappointing note is the fact that this Company did not offer to replace the Modem so I could fully test it. Net Gear's Special support, places blame on My 'ISP' but I and my ISP believe the modem is at fault. I have concluded this fact due to: 1: I have a Motorola SB Docsis 3.0 Modem on the same line which works fine and also an Arris Modem was tested on the same line with no issues. 2: The down stream signal was detected on all four channels on the Motorola, yet only one channel was detected on the Net Gear CMD31T modem. 3: I would lose Upstream signal right after the modem would try to Register yet the Lights on the Modem would indicate an upstream signal.
Overall Review: I can not recommend this product due to My experience with it. It's just sad as I may have been able to give it a favorable rating, had Net Gear sent a working replacement. I can not figure out the strategy in not send a replacement other than not having to admit your product was DOA. Even though every box sent for review was opened at least for a custom letter to be inserted. I have since Learned that the Special Support Team for Eggspert Reviewers was Sub Contracted by Net Gear and not Employee's of Net Gear.
Nuttin Fancy
Pros: Cheap, works, lots of storage and most importantly - Life Time Warranted.
Cons: Flimsy, poor build quality, be carful or you will bust it.
Overall Review: This product will work but its very cheaply made, I hope they honor there warranty.
Bad Karma !
Pros: Lots of Ports.
Cons: These cards are flakey and tend to have connection issues. I have 5 Star Tech Cards including this particular one and all 5 have failed in under 1 yr. I seems you really do "get what you pay for."
Overall Review: I would recommend paying a little more for a dependable brand.
In Reply to N/A "Rediculously Slow"
Pros: This Review is in Reply to N/A's review of ridiculously slow. Its not the card reader that is slow but rather your micro SD card.....
Cons: none
Overall Review: Get a faster rated micro SD card or better yet an SD card instead of a micro SD. Look for a high speed rating.
Meeeeeh
Pros: It's Low Cost. It performs the basic tasks of what it should do but not out of the box.
Cons: You will need to buy software to do even the most mundane task such as playing a 3d Blu-Ray. The Tray button is the cheapest I have ever seen and is no more than a bubble in the veneer on the face plate, something you would see on the cheapest Chinese products.
Overall Review: If I could have my money back I would buy something else. This Company is elcheapo. After getting this I think Ill forgo the LG large screen and get the Samsung, even though I hate Samsung's Support. This product shows me just how greedy the LG Folks are. I could have summed up this review with one word,,,,,,,,"Cheap"
