Will the DIRECTV AM21N Off?Air Dual Tuner work with the Direct TV HR 24 DVR for local channels as I see you only list HR25?

My receiver is an HR44 and this unit works perfectly with it, including the channel guide and recording capability from the off air digital stations. What I'm reading is that they say it will work on HR25's and lower number, so this seems to imply that an HR24 will interface as well. Just to be sure, make sure NewEgg will take it back if it isn't compatible. Don't count on much help from the satellite installers, as they have very little experience with the over-the-air tuners. I love mine, as it lets me get all the digital stations in my area, instead of just the main channels from the satellite.

Question 3

I have a Directv HR24/100 DVR.  It has RF plug labeled Off Air Antenna.  Directv tells me I cannot plug my outside antenna in this hub and get control of all the digital channels I get when the antenna is connected to my Samsung HD TV.  This site indicates I also need another box connected to my DVR.  Can anyone help me understand the configuration?  Many thanks.

I just pick one of these up. The AM21 is a high definition tuner  to pick up off air channels that DirecTV makes. You connect this to the HR24 through a USB connection and Connect the antenna to the AM21. In the setup for the HR24 you can configure the system to search 2 zip codes for local channels. It finds and locks them in based on signal strength and adds them to your channel guide on the HR24.

Some TV's have tuners in them so you can connect direct to the TV, but not all. Also, if connected directly to TV, you will have to change TV input to get to off air channels and will not get integration into DirecTV guide.
