Offering the best of both generations, the ECS PT880PRO-A (V1.0A) Motherboard is a great board if you're looking for a future-proofed motherboard still compatible with most of your existing system. Built around the VIA PT880 PRO and VT8237R chipsets and supporting the faster Pentium 4 HT processors with 800 MHz FSB, it has a PCI Express Lite slot as well as the AGP slot capable of supporting your current AGP card. Once you upgrade to PCI-E, it won't be rendered useless. The PCI Express Lite interface also supports multiple displays.
The ECS PT880PRO-A (V1.0A) supports both Dual Channel DDR400/333 and DDR2 533/400 memory, with maximum of 2 gigabytes. Its on-board Realtek ALC655 audio CODEC delivers clear 6-channel sound, whereas the integrated VIA VT6103L LAN chipset offers easy Internet connectivity.
