Q: I have 3 ASUS ROG PG278Q set up in a horizontal fashion. Looking for a possible 4th ASUS ROG PG278Q and would like to mount it above my center monitor. Does this arm have the height (reach?) to hold a 27" monitor above another 27" monitor?

I just lifted my 32" LG ultra wide 21:9 monitor up to see if I could get enough space under and no way. I don't have the first segment all the way up the mounting post/pivot. It's more like the product shot how I set mine. But even with and extra 3" it won't work to stack two in vertical position.

How is the mount secured to the floor or table or ?? It is not clear why it will not fall over due to the weight of the monitor or what I need to mount it to. Thanks in advance.

Terry, the pictures don't convey everything.  It comes with a very sturdy desk mount clamp or you can also screw it down to the top of you desk.  If you use the desk clamp, make sure you have a good solid surface to clamp it to.

I believe it has to do with VESA mount standards.

This monitor supports VESA type MIS-D, which has two hole size patterns for mounting to the back of a monitor (i.e., 75 x 75 mm;
100 x 100 mm). A larger monitor might require a VESA type MIS-E or MIS-F due to the screen being larger--requiring a more solid mount.

So, mainly it has to do with the distance between the holes on a monitor that you're attempting to mount that will really determine if the back plate on this stand can effectively work with your screen. Of course, weight is the other factor, but in your case that doesn't sound like an issue.

Question 3

Would this be able to support and articulate an old U2711?

I'm not sure what a U2711 is, but my ERGOTRON (with 2 arms) is supporting 2 Apple Thunderbolt 27" Displays nicely. They each weigh around 24 lbs and as long as these ERGOTRON arms extend outward, there's a a lot of leverage working against it but it still works well. There are tension adjustments to help with the weight of large displays, and I've just cranked them down tight to help keep those big displays in place. I am very happy with the two I've purchased and they would be my first choice for the next purchase. I've tried several other display mounts and always come back to this one.

will this fit all monitors?  I have an acer and I want to make sure it'll attach correctly and sturdily.

This will not fit all monitors. This stand supports VESA MIS-D (hole pattern: 100 x 100 mm & 75 x 75 mm). Your monitor must use this mounting standard. For best use, it should also fall within the specifications listed in the details of the product (Screen: <= 27"     Capacity: 7.00 - 20.00 lbs. / 3.10 - 9.10 kg)
