What is the power consumption, and does it use a 6-pin adapter?

I have never seen it go over 75W. Most of the time it is below 60W, according to nvidia-smi under the stress of Unigine Heaven Benchmark  in Linux. It does not have 6-pin adapter. I think the PCIe x16 is able to provide 75W power to the device, so the 6-pin power cord is not needed for this card.

I'm pretty new to building PC's and this will be my first card, I've already ordered it. what motherboard will be compatible with this card and the intel core i3 6100? I'm on a budget.

I have built a couple dozen builds. To my knowledge, a video card does not have 'compatibility' with a CPU. You don't check that certain video cards require certain CPU's. For this card, you need a PCI-E 3.0 slot on the motherboard. I believe that technology is backwards compatible, so if you have PCI-E 2.0 on your mobo it will just be limited to that but it will work. The only other thing you generally need for video cards is that your power supply has enough amperage on the 12V rail. But this card is very special for that reason, they have improved the power consumption of this card so much that it doesn't even have a plug from the power supply. It gets all the power it needs just from the motherboard connection. So aside from just generally making sure your PSU has enough wattage for all your components, you're fine on that. This is a very impressive card for the money, the only issue with using this with an i3 6100 is that your CPU will be a bottleneck. You will be able to enjoy high graphics quality except in games where your CPU becomes an issue. For example, I use this card with an i5 2500K and in battlefield 1 I play on ultra 1080p for most maps especially smaller maps. But in some of the very large maps, my frame rate drops simply because my CPU is slowing down from all the stuff it is keeping track of. Shadow of Mordor is on high 1080p, completely smooth frame rate the whole time. For reference.

Does it work for Laptop?

No, this doesn't work on a laptop. This GTX 1050 card is for desktops only, you can't put in in a laptop. (There is no space!)

To get this in a laptop you have to buy a laptop with the mobile version of this graphics card already inside, since you cannot normally upgrade a laptop beyond storage and RAM (memory).

You will probably have to replace the entire laptop if you want more performance for games.

If you are using this motherboard ,"GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 6.0) AM3+/AM3 AMD 760G USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard". Then no, the GTX 1050 ti will not work, as it is PCI-E 3.0, the motherboard is PCI-E 2.0. But the power supply can definitely support this card. That's one of its strong points, low power consumption.

can I use this for my asus rog g20?

You could, the dimension of the card should fit and be half the length. However, assuming you currently have a GTX 780 in the Asus ROG G20 it is considerably faster than this GTX 1050 SC, and still a powerful GPU for 1080p. If you're looking for a noticable upgrade I would suggest a GTX 1060 that is on sale due to current pricing still being high.

this video card could work in a hp pavillion p7 1010?

I am very sure that the motherboard will be fine with this graphics card, and with the small case the graphics card should make it a nice little PC, the only thing that will probably hold you back is the power supply in your PC(the stock HP Pavilion p7 1010). I have had great results with this graphics card, and I hope that you do too.

DirectX 12?

So this this card "supports" dx12, but it performs usually 10% slower running games in dx12 mode rather than dx11. Unfortunately Nvidia is behind on the dx12 support. I have a gtx 1070 and it performs about 5% worse with games in dx12 mode enabled.

It most likely will, Card Dimensions are (L x H) 5.70" x 4.38". The case looks big enough. There might be some cables in the way, but the card will fit.

This is my first time building a computer and I am wondering if this GPU is compaitble with a MSI Z370 SLI PLUS LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z370  motherboard?

yes. any video card that is pci express will work.  but save up and wait for the 1080ti. to get back down to the $700 range. it's always best to build the baddest rig you can and use it as long as you can. computers age quickly.
