What's the point of having a portable external hard drive if you have to worry about it all the time? Freecom said "that's not the way to live," and introduced the ToughDrive Pro. This 160GB drive has the capacity to store all your important files with room to spare for your music collection, and it is designed to work in the real world. Since it has both a Fire Wire and USB 2.0 interface it works extremely well in a mixed platform environment.
The soft silicone cover keeps the drive from sliding around and provides the first layer of shock defense. The internal anti-shock mechanism protects against falls of up to 2 meters.
Convenience is built in. The drive is bus powered so you don't need to lug around a power cableand the FireWire plug is built in. A USB cable is provided for hooking up to systems that don’t have FireWire ports. The fanless drive will run quietly and it won’t suck power from your laptop.
