If you are talking about the Maximums VI Hero then yes. I have this RAM in mine and it works great. Just gotta turn on XMP in the bios to get 1866mhz otherwise it's at 1333.

It should but you should check the MSI Z87-GD65 user manual at MSI's web site. DDR3 1866 is one of the fastest rams out there so I would bi shocked if it did not work.

What is the difference between pc 12800 and pc 14900?

Speed.  The bigger the number the faster they run.  I batch process large raw photo files and need as much memory speed add possible.  This was the fastest reasonably price ram i could buy.  This set of 16 gig was added to the 16 I already have in the system for a Total of 32 gig.

Short answer maybe. However I do not see any 8GB approved on the memory compatibility list @ Gigabyte. But Crucial has 8GB chips listed for Giga-Byte GA-970A-UD3 (CT3588262, CT2799128, CT3581488, CT4168190, CT4168190, CT2800058)

No far as I can tell your computer takes DDR2 this is DDR3.

look for XPS 630 specifications I found a web forum post that lists the information about your system. You can also use a tool called speccy to get information about what type of ram ins currently in your computer and match that.

Usually to get the full function of DDR (DUAL Data Rate) you want to install in pairs. I have yet to see a SINGLE 16GB DDR3 stick. However you can get a single 8GB DDR3 stick. All the Best.

If yes, then yea they will go into the motherboard, however it doesn't look like it will work at the 1866 speeds that this RAM can overclock to.

So wouldn't the 9-10-9-28 timing be faster??
