I currently have 4 sticks of G.Skill F3-12800cl9q-16gbrl ddr3-1600 pc3-12800, and one of those sticks has gone bad. Can I just replace one of those memory sticks with this one? Are they interchangable? It seems like the Memory model is slightly different (f3-12800cl9s-4gbrl)

Yes, since it is the same clock rate, it should work fine. Check the timings however, if they differ you could have a problem with multi-channel speedup (such as dual-channel)

are these rated at an actual 1600 or do i have to use intel xmp to brimg them up to 1600 from 1333?

yes rated at 1600 but depending on your CPU the bandwith will limit it to a certain speed EX. my cpu a athlon II X3 rana 450 can only  run at 1333 but i can manually OC  them to run at 1600 i dont know much about OC tho clickbiosII pretty much makes it really easy to do

I just ordered 2 of these to replace 2 sticks of Gskill with almost the same specs. They weren't playing nice with my others. Once in a while computer would not boot until I removed the missmatch. It looks like the Asus motherboard I'm using has to have the exact same sticks or problems occur. Running great now with 16 gig ram.

I have the triple channel kit F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL and am getting a new MOBO with dual channel. Will this stick work with the triple channel sticks in the 4th slot on mobo?

You have 3 sticks and want a 4th. you need the 4th stick to match as close as possible to the other 3. I am not an expert on this matter. But I do know that the kits are NOT necessary. You can buy 2 sticks with same model number at different times and make, in essence, your own kit. Optimal dual channel performance (read/write speed) happens when each stick is identical in their configuration - most importantly mfgr and the CAS latency. If you have a CAS of 11 and 9 (2 different sticks) they can still work but at the slower CAS. CAUTION: this does not mean that you can mix any assortment of sticks - nor does it mean that any ad-hoc mix will work.  The obvious.... First DDR type must match MOBO & manufacture "should" match and DDR clock "should" match. if two different mismatched sticks work together they will run at the lower speed, and there are mismatches which just will not work. Your processor and MOBO have a lot to do with weather mismatches will work.

I purchased a set of three memory sticks in one package that is identical to this stick with one exception. The package with the three sticks has a timing of 9-9-9-24. The timing in this single stick is 9-9-9-24-2N. Will this make a difference?

Would 1 of these work alongside 3 model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL sticks?  I had 4 but one of them went bad and I need to replace it but don't want to buy another dual channel kit just for 1 stick.  My motherboard is an Asus Maximus V Extreme.
