AMD has announced the flagship Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, marking the first time we’re seeing 3D V-Cache stacked on both CCDs (8+8 cores). Based on the official specs, this “Dual Edition” processor features a massive 208MB of total cache (192MB L3 + 16MB L2), a base clock of 4.3 GHz, and a boost clock of up to 5.6 GHz. While the hardware is top-tier, AMD is promising “modest performance gains,” which raises a few critical questions for the community:

  1. Thermal Headroom: Is the 200W TDP too high for a 3D V-Cache chip, given how sensitive these stacks are to heat? Can standard cooling solutions keep up?
