Best PC parts on Amazon

This is my first time assembling a PC and I want to know the most optimal but not crazy expensive parts there are, and I’m making a whole white build.

Welcome to the community!

There are a few questions you should answer first:

  1. What’s your budget?
  2. What will the PC primarily be used for—gaming, content creation, general use, or a mix of everything?
  3. If it’s for gaming, what types of games do you play?
  4. Are you committed to an all-white build? (No judgment—I have a white build too—but be aware that the white tax is real.)
  5. Don’t limit yourself to Amazon. Shop around and compare prices from multiple retailers because you can often save a significant amount of money.

Once you answer those questions, people can recommend parts that actually fit your needs instead of just posting their favorite hardware.

I’ll be using it for mostly gaming and 3-d rendering, and I want a white set up because I have been saving up for it and I really want it to match my room.

Budget will be 2k and the reason I said Amazon is because prime day was coming up and I was hoping for some items to have discounts.

Thank u for help

Now that we know a little more, these are the basic components I would look for:

CPU — Ryzen 7 9800X3D

CPU Cooler — 360mm AIO from a reputable brand

Motherboard — B650E (older but still very good) or X870. My personal preference is Asus, they have real nice boards and the user interface on the bios is very beginner friendly.

RAM — 32GB DDR5 6000MHz expo compatiblewith a CL of 30-36. The lower the CL, the better. Pick what fits your budget.

SSD — 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe with a read speed of 7,000 MB/s or higher.

GPU — I recommend an AMD RX 9070 XT. Just pick the one you like. They all perform pretty similarly. Nvidia will probably put you over budget.

Case — Don’t cheap out, but don’t spend a crazy amount either. Around $100 is fine.

PSU — 80+ Gold from a reputable brand. Check the GPU requirements, but you’ll probably want an 850W unit.

This isn’t a parts list, just an example of the type of components I would be looking for. I was not looking for deals so it is a bit over budget but still pretty close.

Welcome! @Viraco is right the white tax is real! I too have a white build

This is a solid list of recommendations, the only change is that for a builder using an AMD chip with 3D V-Cache the latency ratings on the RAM are practically irrelevant. With your 9800X3D recommendation, there will be zero difference in gaming going with CL30, CL36, CL44… it truly won’t matter. As long as the memory runs at 6000MT/s, which locks the infinity fabric in at 2000MHz, there won’t be any difference between RAM latency ratings, as the 3D cache will smooth that out completely. Particularly now, with RAM prices the way they are, this is an incredibly important distinction. Users who go with a non-3D chip like a 9700X would see a noticeable improvement, especially in 1% and 0.1% lows, by going with 6000MT/s CL30 instead of CL36-38 for example. Users who up the ante and go with a 9800X3D should instead save that price difference, specifically seek out cheaper RAM with bad latency ratings to fully take advantage of their 3D V-Cache, and spend that money elsewhere in their build.
