I’m a little bit conflicted. Last year on Black Friday, I bought my first pre-built PC and it’s great so far. It came with a 14th gen i7-14700KF, Gigabyte RTX 4060ti 8gb and I am looking to upgrade my GPU. So far, I’m on the fence of 2 GPUs: The RX 9070 XT or a RTX 5060ti 16gb. Both of them have the good and the bad so I am asking for a bit of insight of which on I should go with or a different recommendation from anyone here. I am also looking into upgrading my power supply.
They are not realy comparable GPU’s and the price reflects that. I own a 9070xt and it has more than met my expectations. But the cheapest one (ASRock) is $700 compared to the cheapest 5060ti $450. Somthing more in line with that would be a 9060xt 16gig at $370. If you want to compare a 5070ti ti the 9070xt they are close in performance. There again the Nvidia is around a $100 more (they are giving away the new boarderlands with it).I personaly would go with the 70 class card. I try to think ahead with longevity and moving Components to my next PC and get a little extra milage out of it, but not sure your finances.
I recommend the RX 9070 XT but the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB isn’t a bad choice if your budget is a bit smaller. Your i7 14700KF is perfect for either GPU. I love the Gigabyte models that you chose and have personally built with both of those cards - Gigabyte is my favorite AIB!
Welcome sgaras93! Glad to have you The RX 9070 XT will definitely help you get the max out of your i7-14700KF the RTX 5060 Ti is a good card but not in the same league as RX 9070 XT the RTX 5070 Ti is closer match both are good for 2K-4K gaming the 9070 XT tends to run a little cheaper
Price is no object
well then
, chose a 5070ti or 9070xt that fits your build the best and call it a day. When it comes to the 9070xt you can just choose one for the aesthetics that you want over performance. They all pretty much perform similarly even the OC models you’re just paying mostly for the aesthetics. Any overclocking that manufacturers do can be done on your own to a non-OC model. Not so sure for the Nvidia. But both brands are comparable this generation as far as performance goes,DLSS4 is a bit better though. I was just not willing to pay $1300 for just a little bit of extra performance at the time when I bought my card. Nvidia prices have come down since then. ![]()
