im building my first pc but dont wanna overspend if parts will limit other parts
It depends what kind of games you are going to play. If its just competitive games like Fortnite or linear games like Last of Us it might be overkill. But if you play more open world games where the CPU tracks lots of assets like NPC’s and scripted scenes within the world it will be fine. You could go with a 7800X3D which is also a great CPU but I think i’d stay with your first choice. First you will only save about a $100 or less. Second the 7800X3d is still a great CPU but its last gen now. The 9800X3d is current gen which at this point be a bit more future proof, you may only have to upgrade the GPU in the future. I don’t think you’ll see much bottlenecking with the 5070. Maybe you would get some slight bottlenecking with ultra-high-FPS 1080p (then the CPU is more of a limiter), but it will still be real fast. No matter what you decide I highly recommend an X3d chip for gaming.
Most likely, I’m going with i5-14600k for my 5070. But if you want to go with AMD you could get a 9600x or 9700x.
Dawg it ain’t enought I spend 1900$ on r7 9800x3d and 5070 and I only get 130 fps with on medium 1440p I can’t imagine 4k prolly
Yes a 5070 ti is much better and will prob fix all my issues lol
Are you playing at 1440p or 1080p? If 1440p it might be overkill. I suggest looking at 5070 with different CPU’s on a benchmark.
What kind of games are you playing? If it’s like CS:GO 2, League of Legends, Overwatch. Your build should do really well. If it’s Wuchang Fallen Feathers, Black Myth Wukong, or Hell Divers, it may be harder to run.
Actually went from 13600k to 9800x3d because of games like HELLDIVERS 2.
Had fps drops from 100 to 60 at 2k res at high-normal settings. With 9800x3d satble 100-90 fps much much better if u care about stable frame time on thouse harsh games.
Yes games like that like all what CPU can bring due to optimization or game engine idk, but for other games i had no issues with 13600k great cpu and it also 20 threads 14600k just a refresh so they kind of a same cpu, makes your work what ever it is done a bit faster, but sadly not much use for games
Agreed with Viraco. Basically u want to know what game you want to play, from that u know where u need to focus your budget. Even if u go for 9800x3d it will serve u well for good 5 years ahead. You can always reduce graphics settings but if u CPU bottlenecked u screw at that point. So it’s not a wrong idea to get a decent cpu for games.
Most budget option for best price/performance cpu would be 7600x3d but good luck finding that for a released price. Maybe 9600x3d will show up in stock one day idk.
In 1440p probably not same in 1080p but a 5070ti would hang even better
