Prebuilt

I want a prebuilt pc but my budget is 900$ any suggestions🙏

Here’s a good prebuilt that can definitely do 1080p gaming on the less demanding games and maybe a little 1440p to (although I would play at 1080p):
Check this out on @Newegg:Cooler Master Elite Pro Micro ATX Gaming PC Ryzen 5 5600G RX 6600 32GB 1TB SSD https://www.newegg.com/p/3D5-0010-00631

Thanks a lot should I get this as my first pc?

If you do 1080p gaming and you already have a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, than absolutely. But if you don’t have any of those than you would have to save up another $100-$200 to get them.

, thanks a lot for the help

You’re honestly in a tough price range right now, and the PC you were shown is pretty typical of what most prebuilts look like around the $900 mark. That doesn’t make it a bad choice—it will work—but it does come with compromises, especially on the GPU side.

If it were me, I’d try to find something with a slightly newer graphics card, or consider waiting a couple of months and saving a few hundred more dollars. Moving into the $1,200–$1,300 range opens the door to systems that are less dated overall and built on a more modern platform. It would still be considered entry-level, but it would age better and offer a much stronger upgrade path down the road, which usually saves money in the long run—especially for a first PC.

What really stinks is that six months ago, $900 could get you a genuinely solid system. In today’s market, that same money often gets you something that’s already outdated from day one, which makes most $900 prebuilts hard to recommend.

If you’re set on spending $900 and buying now, you’ll need to be very selective and do some real searching for sales. As a rough guideline, I’d look for at least the following:

  • CPU (minimum):

    • AMD Ryzen 5000 series (7000 series is better but out of your price range)
    • Intel 13th Gen
  • GPU (minimum):

    • 12 GB of VRAM
  • RAM:

    • 16 GB (32 GB is not necessary at this tier)

The tricky part is that many prebuilt companies are stuffing systems with 32 GB of RAM (this is really marketing and trying to make their PCs look better than what they are) while pairing them with GPUs that are one or even two generations old—often because those GPUs are cheap or excess stock. That’s the wrong trade-off. RAM is “kind of sorta” relatively cheap and easy to upgrade later when prices stabilize; the GPU is not.

The other option is simply to wait and see how the Steam Machine shakes out. Early rumors suggest a price around $750, and depending on performance and availability, it could end up being a more compelling value than most current $900 prebuilts.

I’m going to wait for a month or 2 and see how much I can save for my pc I believe I’ll save about 1,500 or so should I build my own pc or buy a prebuilt?

You’ll get more bang for your buck building your own PC. It’s not difficult if you take your time but you have tofeel comfortable doing it. I have some good videos that I’ll post a link here for you to use for references. They’re a little bit older but they’re still relevant. if you still don’t feel comfortable after watching the videos you should be able to get a decent machine ( prebuilt) for that price but be aware as the year goes on I think prices are going to only rise so you will have to take that into account also.

here watch some of these they’re pretty educational I used them after not having built a computer for over 20 years.

If I get some time I’ll try to update them but they’re pretty much spot on.

when you’re really ready I’m sure everyone here can help you pick out some parts that’ll give you best cost to performance value and try to future proof it for a while.

without getting to involved this is what you could get for that kind of money if you build yourself. It’s just something I threw together without looking for sales or going outside of Newegg to look for the best deals. It’s on the current AM 5 AMD platform, it’s the current generation 16 GB GPU and everything is highly upgradable. You could also look at an Intel build if you’re more inclined to that.
$1500 would get you into the eight core processors maybe even an X3d chip if you can find it on sale.
remember this is just to give you an idea into what you would be looking at

I agree that building your one pc will give you better results for what you pay, but I think you can still get a good system + keyboard and mouse for $900.

Good thing your not building a PC because the Rampocolypse has prices going massive
