This is my latest version of my build. I upgraded from an x470 and 5800X3D. I’m pretty happy with it but if I can come across a 5080 for MSRP or even close I will grab it up.
Yes my CPU cooler is in a push/pull configuration. So far temps are pretty normal. I may re-evaluate that if I see temps spiking but so far it’s been good and it allows the RAM to be visible and the fan to cover more of the heatsink.
Without further ado, my specs…

What a great photo! I absolutely love all the specs you’ve listed out here. I see you have “The Finals” downloaded on your computer. What you played it much? What do you think of it?
Finals is my competitive Jam. I play with a buddy for at least an hour nearly every days. It certainly has it’s ups (love the destructible environments) and it’s downs (match balancing can be a bit skewed) but it’s been consistently a good time for me and it really scratches that competitive itch for me.

What class do you play? I can’t play Light for the life of me
I play heavy most of the time, sometimes medium. I totally feel you on the light.
I’m thinking about upgrading to CL30 or CL32 RAM but I’m not sure if it’s worth it considering the X3D processor. I think last time I did a Cas Latency upgrade I got a reseasonable uplift but that was well before X3D procs…
Update: I made the trip to a retail store and picked up an MSI Shadow 5080 card for $999.99. I could’ve gotten similar for that online but I had $300 in cash and considering the holiday weekend, I wanted to get my hands on one today. I also wanted to get a more modern power supply as mine was lacking the new connector and only had two 12v rails making the adapter not viable. On top of all that, this was a popular but somewhat scarce store so my newphew and I made a trip out of it.
So New Specs (leaving off the accessories for length):
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8C16T@ 4.7GHz-5.5GHz
ASUS X-870 PLUS WIFI Mainboard
Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5 CL36 6000MHz RGB AMD EXPO
MSI Shadow 3X GEFORCE RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7
Western Digital Black SN750 NVME M.2 500GB SSD OS
Team Group T-Force G50 M.2 4 TB SSD Games
Patriot 2TB SATA 2.5" SSD Extra
Liteon Blu-Ray RW Optical
Rosewill Mirage Case
Corsair RM850X Cybernetics Gold 850 Watt Power Supply
Happy with it so far. I really hated paying $1000 for a video card but since I’m selling the old one for $400-$450, I am not hating this amazing performance for $600.
