You’re basically at the top end of AM4. The only real CPU upgrade left that makes sense is a 5800X3D, but it’s no longer made, and prices on the used market have gotten pretty wild. Because of that, it’s often hard to justify unless you find a really good deal.
The RTX 5080 will work fine, but it’s honestly overkill for a 5800X in a lot of scenarios, especially at 1080p/1440p or high refresh where the CPU becomes the limiter. At 4K the gap narrows, but you’re still not fully feeding that GPU. If performance feels good now, you’re set for a while — otherwise, the next meaningful upgrade after this platform is moving to AM5 (or newer Intel) rather than sinking more money into AM4.
I agree with that, and here’s what I think is a good list for $750:
You could substitute the 7700x for a 9600x if you play at 1440p or 4k. And you could get 16gb of ram to save some money. And you should be able to use your ssd and psu with these components. (although I would recommend upgrading the psu to a 1000w unit). Hope this helps!
