What upgrades should I get with a $1000 budget?
I currently have 64gb of ddr4 ram, a Ryzen 5 5500, rx6600, and a 1TB ssd
Keeping the same motherboard and AMD theme, you could do a Ryzen 9 5900x / 5950x (12 & 16 Cores) and a Rx 7800xt
I have a few questions for you.
What is the purpose of your pc?
Is it just for gaming or are you also doing any productivity work? Assuming your pc is just for gaming, its odd for a budget cpu like your 5500x to be running 64gb of ram. Large amounts of ram tends to have more latency causing fewer fps and marjory, if not all games will never fully utilize 64gb. You would be better off with a smaller 16gb or 32gb BUT lower latency kit. For a am4 gaming system I would recommend a 32gb 3600mhz kit as it will give you extra headroom if you plan to use other applications simultaneously while gaming. Otherwise a 16gb 3600mhz kit will do just fine as well.
Again, assuming your pc is just for gaming, what performance gain(s) are you looking for? Want more fps? Want to crank up/max out settings? Want to increase your resolution? Want to include storage? Etc.
The parts I would recommend will vary depending on your needs so I can’t give you a clear answer at the moment. I’ll be happy to help.
My pc is strictly for gaming and the 64GB was a Christmas present that I am about to swap 32 of those gigs to a streaming pc I am building Right now I have a 1080p 240hz monitor and I want to max out that monitor and potentially upgrade to 1440p
What type of MB do you have? (450/550/570?) If you mainly game can do a lot with S1000 Also what is your PS wattage?

AMD 5900XT
Radeon 7800XT
FREE M.2 PCIe Gen 4 x4 1TB SSD
B550 and 850W
5900XT & 7800XT should work great plus free 1TB drive
such a good question, asking for the purpose of the pc is i think one of the first questions to ask for these types of posts
