Overall Review: This is by far the best paste I have used, on either air or under water. Non conductive and easy to apply. It is a little thick so I usually warm it first by placing the syringe in a cup of warm water for 5 minutes before use. Excellent, recommended

Pros: Got a new AIO WC kit and while I still have plenty of artic5 left from my previous builds, I decided to get something different, something that could probably be better in the end. So, after doing a lot of digging, this GELID paste seems like a good candidate, and so I bought a kit. It's been now 4.2 months and so far I'm not over the top impressed but this GELID seems like it has its advantages over Artic 5and I like the GELID more in terms of actually spreading the paste all over the CPU and it's not conductive, no need to "put a grain of rice" size and good luck whichever way the paste spreads. With this GELID, it actually covers the entire surface of the CPU's lid and not problems as it's not conductive and I have so much left, I'm sure this will last for quite more builds to come and/or will replace the OEM thermal compounds from some of the other components in my builds, such as the MoBo and Video Card. There isn't that much to say about thermal compounds other than if it work and at what level and I'd say that the GELID is pretty much better than the traditional Artic 5 or any other conductive or more expensive thermal compounds, it works and it works great. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good thermal compounds.

Pros: I had a heat issue with one of my GPU's and guessed it was poor TIM application and it was but I never expected a 20C drop in temps. That's right 20c right off the bat. I am seriously impressed with this thermal paste and now use it for everything. I have some more on the way as I write this. Applies very easily.

Pros: It lowered my core temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees on an Intel i5-3570K overclocked to 4.6GHz under 100% load over Prolimatech PK-1, which is a good compound, however, not as good as GELID GC-Extreme.

Overall Review: To those people that found this TIM too runny, always store TIM with the tip down, never on it's side or worse, with the tip up. This is vital as the oil begins to separate and you do not want a lot of the oil on a heatsink or chip. Unless purchased from a brick and mortar store that has this TIM hanging from a hook, place the TIM with the tip down for at least a month before use, and when finished with a job, place it tip down again. I waited 10 months before using this TIM [with the tip down] and the viscosity was perfect. CPU cooler is Noctua NH-C14 140mm x 2 SSO [air cooler, with air flow toward motherboard]. I made 5 runs of AIDA64 [Prime 95 is not meant for Ivy Bridge and can burn it up, also, AIDA64 adds more tests]. The last run was just over 2 hours, the following are the temperatures. Room temperature was 70 degrees. Maximum Temperatures: Core 0 = 62C [143F], Core 1 = 65C [149], Core 2 = 64C [147F], Core 3 = 59C [138F] Note that my i5-3570 is only a medium range overclocker, requiring more voltage than those lucky people that get a better CPU. During testing my CPU ran at 1.284 volts due to aggressive settings in BIOS, my BIOS setting for the CPU was 1.270, however, the aggressive settings boosted core voltage to 1.284 as mentioned. I have used many TIMs and this is the best.

Pros: I saw the claims and I couldn't believe it. I have been a dyed-in-the-wool AS-5 user since... well, for a long time. I read the Benchmark Reviews 80-way TIM shoot-out and I thought I'd give it a try, anyway. I was expecting 2 or 3 degrees C from AS-5. THIRTEEN DEGREES better than AS-5. No s---. I bought this TIM for a new i7 project, but thought I would try it out on a known system. So, I used Arctic Cleaner to remove AS-5 I had applied in April/May. It was fully cured and the HSF was fully seated with even pressure - "i"s dotted. "t"s crossed. Full load stable temperature - 59C. Ok, nothing to worry about. First Load Test with GC-Ex: 42C. WHAT?!!??! I loaded up multiple instances of Orthos, Prime95, CPUBurnIn, 3DMark06... 42 degrees. Even if there was a variance in room temperature... What? 4-5 degrees C. That's still the same 12-13 degrees C claimed on the package. That's just AMAZING.

Cons: It's not as thin as I was lead to believe, either. It's closer to AS-5 than not.

Overall Review: The spreader is perfunctory if you're used to the AS-5 "grain of rice" and pressure method.

Pros: Im using a gaming laptop with a quad core i7 cpu and temps were 98C stock from the factory, Intel allows upto 105C which is insane imo. I did every trick in the book by adding several fans under the laptop and even removing a few vent slots along with a good tear down for cleaning and removing the stock paste and adding Rosewill Pro90. I gained a big 6C drop for all those efforts, But it slowly rose back up to 96C after a few weeks. Not one to give up i did some research in the reviews on the Egg and found this stuff. My max CPU temp is now 81C! A 15-17C drop in temps with just a compound change blew me away. Ive been doing computer hardware for 12 years now and never had temp drops so drastic even using the best compounds on the market at those times. I dont know if they changed the formula a bit, Bit i found it to be just the right consistency to allow even spreading and adhesion. It was nothing like the thick Shin-Etsu clay style compounds ive used before, It was like AS-5.

Cons: Price, But for what i lost in temps id have gladly paid twice as much.

Overall Review: If there is better thermal compound out there, Id like to try it. But i wouldn't remove this stuff off my cpu to do it, Id test it on something else as this compound in nothing short of amazing. Not everyone may see the big difference i did since my cpu was on fire, My idle temps only went down about 3-4C so if your computer doesn't vary much from idle to full load you will see less results as thats just physics. But the higher the difference between idle and load temps the more drops you will see in temps. I dont write many reviews, But this one i just had too so hopefully it will amaze others like it did me. NewEgg was great as ever, Ive been a long time customer for over 10 years now and there is a very good reason for that. Price and service with selection. And they do listen and care about customers.

Pros: The viscosity (thickness) of this material seems just right to me and the non-conductivity of it is also an important feature. If you don't know the correct way to apply thermal compound, please see 'Other Thoughts' below.

Overall Review: Many people (me too, when I was a newbie) don't realize there is a correct way to apply thermal paste. First, your surfaces need to be clean and smooth (e.g., I suggest using Arctic Silver Thermal Material Remover & Surface Purifier, some lint-free cloths & compressed air). Second, you only need a small pea-sized (or less) dab applied to the center of your CPU/GPU chip which will automatically SPREAD ITSELF out nicely when mated against the precisely seated heatsink assembly (this application method best avoids the possibility of air bubbles, etc, which you certainly DON'T want). Try to mate the heatsink evenly in ONE GO (otherwise you may need to start over again, to avoid the possibility of air bubbles, etc). There are many websites which detail this time tested application method. Some experimentation may be necessary to get the hang of it.
