Does this card come with a display port cable?  Neither Newegg, Gigabyte, nor the product manuals seem to list any box contents.

I'm upgrading from a Powercolor R9 380, Is this a good upgrade for heavy and graphics-intensive modding of skyrim? What are the Pros and Cons of purchasing this?

I would have to say that this GPU would be worth the upgrade from your Powercolor R9 380. I have used this card for about a year and a half now and it hasn't slowed down one bit. I don't own or play Skyrim but I feel that this card will perform well.

I would say my personal pros would be that this card plays all my games and the utmost highest setting. I play games from all over the spectrum, from indies to triple A titles, and this card can handle it all. The Geforce Experience is a great program that works well with the card and make optimizing games easy.

My only con to the card, as of yet, was that there was a driver update a couple months back where it put my system in a boot loop that ultimately forced me to system restore my computer. This issue wasn't so much the graphics card's fault  but rather Nvidia's fault. Other than that this card is great and I do recommend it.

Will this GeForce GTX 980 perform well specifically for new games such as witcher 3 and is it already overclocked?

Yes, it is especially good for new, modern games. 
  This model with the "OC" in the part number is already overclocked - as compared to other base line models. That said, if you wish, you can further tweak to overclocking even higher if you are into that. It also works just fine as it is, if you are not.
  Your system needs to be able to support the additional power supply and cooling needs. 
  This card is also well suited for your future needs if you want an even higher resolution monitor. I use it on a 28" 4K monitor. Very nice on The Witcher!

Does this work with Linux and Hackintosh?

Nvida has not launched an official version of the drivers for the OS X yet, last time I checked, they launched an Alpha-version in September of the last year. Not many Mac computers have the 900 series, that's why the delay, but the drivers are coming.
In the case of Linux, yes, there are official drivers for Linux.

when you open the box, the card will be wrapped in an anti static bag. its sealed with tamper evident tape. if the seal is broken, its not new.

Hey does this non-gamer version of the Windforce 980 have most of the features of the gamer version? I don't like overclocked cards because it wears down faster, but i want some of the features of the gamer edition that are advertised on its page. Does this one have

Glowing LED light "Windforce" logo

and the same cooling system?

Just trying to see why this one is so much cheaper. Thank you.

Since the Overclocking comes from the factory, you get a standard factory warranty on the card, it won't wear down any faster than a non-overclocked card. (Unless you have poor cooling in your chassis.)

BTW, it isn't a particularly agressive overclock - right out of the box. Most folks would tweak the settings futher manually to increase the overclock.

Question 10

Can anyone confirm the length of this (GV-N980WF3OC-4GD ) card?  Newegg and some other web site said it is 12.28" (311.91mm).  However, the Gigibyte web site said is 299mm.  I plan to buy the "Fractal Design Define R5" case which can fit a card up to 310mm without remove the top HDD cage. Thanks

i don't know the exact measurements and my answer probably won't help but i'll share what i can.  this card is freakin long.  i never had a video card this long before..  i have an Antec Sonata III which is a standard mid case and i had to cut a portion of the case inside to fit this card.
