Western Digital WD BLACK SN750 NVMe M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 64-layer 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) WDS100T3X0C

Pros: Rivals the Samsung variant and beats it out in other machine setup. Thankfully in my setup it performs amazingly well! I'm so happy I purchased this instead of the Samsung EVO Plus. No need to install special software to unlock its full potential. Amazingly fast and super responsive!

Cons: I cant get the life expectancy of the remaining writes in the cells like I did with the Samsung Evo 860 SATA drive it replaced. I used HWiNFO64 to get this information.

Overall Review: Amazing m.2 drive! Fantastic engineering WD and Sandisk! I have this drive installed as my primary boot drive. And let the numbers speak for themselves! I would highly recommend this drive to anyone. And finally a worthy rival to the Samsung EVO Plus drive and for far less in price! ASUS HERO X z370 Intel i5 8600k @ 5GHz OC G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB 3400 OC EVGA 1070 Ti I was able to achieve the full speed and potential of this drive without the use of special software. I used CrystalDiskMark v7.0 Seq Q8T1 R 3417.88 / W 3099.92 Seq Q1T1 R 2555.66 / W 2899.39 Ran Q32T16 R 2172.24 / W 1760.11 Ran Q1T1 R 53.42 / W 183.22

The unassuming sleeper laptop.

ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 OLED 14.5" Intel Core i9-13900H 32GB Memory 1TB PCIe SSD Windows 11 Home 64-bit 90NB0Z81-M000W0
ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 OLED 14.5" Intel Core i9-13900H 32GB Memory 1TB PCIe SSD Windows 11 Home 64-bit 90NB0Z81-M000W0

Pros: -OLED Screen is better than Apple Macbook Pro! -NVIDIA dGPU 4070 -intel xE iGPU is pretty good! -FHD (1080p) front facing camera. -Track Pad is similar to Apple's. -Minimalist design.

Cons: -Built in speakers could be better. -Cant change keyboard lighting color. -Cant upgrade RAM to a full 64GB (16GB soldered to main board + 1 SO-DIMM Slot max of 32GB) -Chassis (Zenbooks) don't have a 4080 or 4090 variant.

Overall Review: I love how unassuming this laptop is. It's simple and clean looking. But under the hood it's a powerful beast of a laptop. Portable workhorse of computer, a sleeper! It has a great weight to it. Not too heavy at all if you are planning on using this as your daily driver. And the chassis is made with aluminum so it's very sturdy. Being carried in your backpack for work or school. I initially fell in love with the design, the OLED screen and what's under the hood! I did a direct comparison to my wifes Apple M2 Max MacBook Pro 14inch laptop (2023). The screen on this ZenBook is far superior to that of the MacBook Pros. The colors and vibrancy, its beautiful eye candy! The screen is gorgeous! But where the macbook pro lacks in, it excels in its sound. It's far superior to this Zenbooks harman / kardon designed speakers. The lows and highs are very clear. High quality sound from team Apple. On team Asus, the Zenbook, it sounds like the speakers are rattling against the chassis with similar volume (Tested both Laptops side-by-side while watching Demon Slayer on Netflix during a fight scene about mid to high volume. Not maxed out, and sound quality is noticeable if compared to the Mac). But if anything, it still sounds great in most use cases. People who are using this computer to edit usually use headphones anyway. My primary reason buying this Zenbook was for gaming. Editing photos & video work was my secondary need for this machine. So playing games is very enjoyable when looking at this screen. It's very clear and sharp and the colors pop! The dark parts are dark and light parts are bright as they should. So when pushing this machine, it does get loud. Sounds like a jet about to take off on the runway at the airport. I set the fan profile to max speed to cool the CPU & GPU as best as they can while testing. I wanted to compare and see what this Zenbook can really do, so I used the 3DMark software. Got an overall score of 11132. Which is apparently top 63% better than all results (as of 11/11/2023) Maximum temperatures are GPU 77C / CPU 88C. Compared these results to my primary gaming editing desktop from 2018. Under the hood is a i9 9900K 5.1Ghz with 3080 Ti. Got a score of 17594 top 86% of all results (tested on 07/30/2023). Not bad! I came to find out that if you leave the MUX switch setting to MSHybrid. It actually boosts performance a bit more than if you left the setting on discrete GPU only. The system will actually use about 30% of the iGPU and 100% of the dGPU in games. What a great design in programming. I wonder if on an update intel or Asus can fully utilize the iGPU with the dGPU when rendering or gaming. All in all I personally would take this Zenbook vs the Macbook anyday. It's lighter, the eye candy is amazing and I need it to run. I would highly recommend this Zenbook to anyone in the market looking for a clean yet powerful laptop.

Speed overkill on a PS5

Corsair Force MP600 M.2 2280 2TB PCI-Express Gen 4.0 x4 NVMe 3D TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F2000GBMP600
Corsair Force MP600 M.2 2280 2TB PCI-Express Gen 4.0 x4 NVMe 3D TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-F2000GBMP600

Pros: Super fast! Too fast that the PS5 is most likely the bottle neck... And I don't have a gaming MB with Gen 4 to truly test it out for myself.

Cons: Price? Wish it was a tad bit cheaper.

Overall Review: This review is for the Force MP600 2TB PCI-E 4 3D TLC. TL;DR: Overall I highly recommend this m.2 drive for any gaming PC builds as the boot drive and the PS5. I would buy this again. I primarily bought this m.2 SSD to extend the storage on my PS5. This drive works flawlessly. I was able to format and use the 2TB as advertised. My PS5 has a read speed of 3857.7 MB/s. Im missing around ~1 GB/s. of the 4950 MB/s advertised. This SSD is super fast as it is. So no biggie, since you won't be able to see that difference in real world gameplay. Maybe on a gaming PC that will truly utilize the Gen 4 PCI-E bus. Only Physical problem is that the heat spreader for this SSD is too tall. And will prohibit reclosing the OEM metal plate that covers the m.2 slot. But I consider this an actual pro as opposed to being a con. Reason being that the design of the PS5s cooling doesn't seem to allow any airflow into that compartment anyway. And having the m.2 drive exposed to more air will reduce heat buildup and thus prolong the drives life span. The PS5 already runs hot since Sony decided to skimp out on more cooling of vital components on the motherboard. Now only the test of time will show how this SSD performs. I am not even considering that this drive will ever come close to its estimated write endurance rated for up to 3,600TB written. Looking forward to the day when 20TB+ SSD hits the mainstream market for an affordable price.

Works on an older HP laptop.

Overall Review: I don’t have to download anymore RAM! Came from 4GB to 8GB with this kit. Unfortunately can’t go 16GB due to motherboard limitations.
