if the 1/2 way genius who designed this would have put the molex wiring on the side, you could actually use this in a sata docking station as well. uggh...more searching... ?

Yeah, the adapter covers the molex connector on your DVD. I found a short ide to ide adapter ribbon cable which allowed me to have the adapter a few inches away from the back of the DVD player so you can plug in the molex connector. The adapter works good now.
