Are there specifics I need to match for an SSD to hard drive..ie 3 TB hard drive.. is this 128gb SSD a good match?

There are absolutely no criteria, matching a hard drive to another is not actually a thing in a technical sense. Just choose the right drive for the task. SSD gives you a great boot drive for your OS and applications that require speed.  The 3tb drive serves as your data drive.  You can get away with a 128GB drive for the OS, but it might be easier in the long run to get a 256.

Question 2

How does a "Vertical" ssd differ from othe ssd drives?

It has to do with how the memristors are layered. It's more of a gimmic word, but "vertical" isn't really different than any standard consumer SSD. The more "stacked" the cells are, the higher density there is for the drive and the more read/write cycles the device can sustain, but access is typically slower. SLC (single layer cell) SSDs are typically faster, but the drives are more expensive and can't sustain as many read/write cycles before the cells wear out.

Can I use this drive to replace the HD in my laptop?

This is a SATA 3 SSD. You can install it into any laptop that supports at least SATA 2. I Have had cmputers with a SATA 1 Controller that do not work with modern drives. Basicly if the version of Windows is Vista or higher, it should work. Hope this helps.

Is this drive available for laptops?

Yes This drive is 2.5" which is the default size for laptops and almost all ssd's are 2.5"s. you would actually have to get a adapter bracket to get this drive to fit a desktop case that only supports a mechanical 3.5"  drive. something else to be aware of is for the life of this drive to last the longest it must be setup in the bios for SATA AHCI not IDE so trim can run and keep the drive healthy. also a OS that supports trim like windows 8 and i think windows 7, if the OS does not support trim you will have to use the software that comes with the drive (Samsung magician) to optimize the drive from time to time which is the same thing as trim. if the laptop only has SATA 2 gen. connectors not 3 the performance will suffer slightly compared to one that is SATA 3 gen. Hope this helps super fast awesome SSD! computer boots in like 17 seconds with a MB that supports fast boot and windows 8 with Fast boot enabled.

Do these drives support Trim in raid 0?

I believe part of what makes these drives so advanced is that they don't require external TRIM. There is no reason they can't be used in any RAID configuration - that would be RAID controller not drive dependent.

i need to replace a hybrid (500gb/6gb) 5400rpm 32mb cache Sata 6.0gb/2.5" sshd -from a laptop running windows 8, that has to be a 7mm in size. will this work in it ?

100 x 69.85 x 6.8 (mm) this is the size for the 850 pro. I assume these are correct since this information is taken directly from the 850 pro data sheet. Should work if this is the case.

Will this drive work in a Mac?

I have one of these running in a mac book pro (the mac book pro that still had screws on the bottom).  Also I have put several of them in the Silver Mac Pros.  But the Mac Pros required an adapter to make them fit nicely.

CAN i extend disq memory of 13" Mac book pro retina WITh this product ?

I've never used them in a Mac Book Pro, but I do use them in Mac Minis, so I know they are Mac compatible.

It can be used to REPLACE the 2.5" HDD in your Mac Book Pro but I don't believe you can add it to the existing HDD.

Where can I buy a bracket to mount in my tower?

Rather than bother with that, I just stuck some velcro on the CPU case area, and complementary velcro on the drive. Removable, firmly in place, no screws, no mounting plates. These drives are very light; not much chance of them bouncing around. And, they have no moving parts that might lead to vibration, etc.

assume this drive will fit into any desktop configuration? Have sata 2 currently. 1 tb hdd Seagate Barracuda . description does not imply for laptop or desktop install. Thanks in advance...Nelson.

Yes.  It will fit in a desktop and work just fine; however, you will likely need a mounting bracket such as a Rosewill RX-C200P. Good Luck.  This is an incredibly awesome SSD.  Make sure you have a spare SATA cable as well if you plan add it with other drives.  This drive comes bare bones with no other mounting hardware.
