Does this come with an SATA data cable?

There isn't any SATA cable included when you purchase the baredrive itself.

Is this an OEM "Bare" HDD or retail? Been hearing WD doesn't honor the warranty on OEMs. Thanks in advance for your time in answering.

I registered this device with wd. I had read that some were not able to register. When I received the drive it was well packaged box - direct from manufac. i.e. It wasn't repackaged poorly by a reseller or returned. i ordered from newegg.

Did not come in retail packaging. I don't know about OEM, but intended to be a server drive.

Far as I can tell, they're the same thing. The "SP" appears to be a WD part number. But I could be wrong. I have the BYZ version and so far it's working great. Hope this helps
