Ubisoft Releases First Teaser Trailer for ‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’

By March 24, 2014No Comments

Ubisoft has been steadily working on the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game for more than three years. And although they aren’t quite ready to show us their full vision of the game, alpha footage has just become available.

The game is code-named Unity and looks to be more realistic than ever before. Not much is shown in the video besides the game’s environment which is set in the streets of 18th century Paris during the French Revolution.

The release of the video comes after images for the game were leaked over the weekend. The pictures feature an assassin named Arno along with new “parkour up” and “parkour down” buttons, as well as a new navigation mechanic.

If these images and video weren’t enough to get you amped, several sources are reporting a second Assassin’s Creed game will also be released this year. The game is code-named Comet and will be released simultaneously alongside Unity. Ubisoft has done a great job releasing a new Assassin’s Creed game every year since 2009 but this will be the first time two games are released the same year.

Some fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise have been criticizing Ubisoft for oversaturating us with too much content. In the last five months we’ve received Black Flag, the mobile-only Pirates, a remake of Liberation, and a board game called Arena. This is certainly AC overload but for die-hard fans this is a good thing.

Both titles are expected to land in stores this fall. Unity will be available for the Xbox One and PS4 while Comet will be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Both games will most likely also be available for PC and there is no word yet if either will come to Nintendo’s Wii U.
