Finally, PCIe and Intel QLC 3D NAND SSD in one SSD.

Combining PCIe standard with Intel QLC 3D NAND technology, the Intel 660p Series SSD delivers blazing data transfer speed and enables the possibility of high capacity. Its ultra-compact M.2 form factor makes it a perfect choice to boost the performance of any slim modern laptops. Together with affordability, it is a great SDD upgrade.

PCIe Performance at an Affordable Price

Empowered by Intel’s innovative Intel QLC Technology, the Intel SSD 660p offers higher capacities at a lower cost than TLC-based options1. With PCIe, the new SSD 660p skips SATA and its limitations to provide up to 2TB in one drive.

Twice the Capacity in Identical Footprints2

Very good for “cold” storage use cases

Pros: Great value with good speeds

Cons: Don’t use for frequent write cases

Other Thoughts: Due to the QLC chips, frequent write use cases should not be used for this SSD. I replaced a HDD with this for things like my Steam library, media and other cold storage uses.

Game load times have much improved over using my HDD.

Hello, drawbacks, where are you?

Pros: Performs great and I have more then 50% filled and it shows read write not as high as they say on site but 1610 read and 1538 write MB/s sequential and slightly higher then random numbers I'm using Samsung magician
must have some over provisioning shows 1908 GB in disk management and1.86 TB useable
my games that were on my hdd now on this load fast and going from area to is cut way down
provides for those spoiled by ssd load time to have cake and eat too
5 yr warranty
This drive is perfect for normal people who aren't running things that will write to it constantly in large amounts I don't see why some ssd snobs are ragging on it.

Cons: it only has 400tbw lifetime writes ( I have a m.2 as my C drive for 3 years and only written 28.7 TB so I'm not worried the 5 years will come first for me)
lots of people say dumb stuff about it maybe jumping on that Linus bandwagon

Other Thoughts: Love this drive best value and I don't see any drawbacks that make me regret not spending $600 to get a Samsung 960pro the same warranty length almost double TBW and 2x read and write speed not needed for normal people who aren't gonna tear into that TBW hard and fast

Performs as Advertised

Pros: Fast reads

Fast writes to cache

Cache seems to work exactly as depicted in the YouTube reviews

For a game library, price/performance is unmatched.

Cons: Slow writes after cache is full

Other Thoughts: When I bought this drive, I was looking at 1tb TLC nvme drives. This drive was less expensive than any of them, and after looking into this drive, I realized I could write over 1.5tb of games to this drive (assuming you let the drive rebuild its' cache between installs) before the cache became smaller than even the largest triple A titles.

Put this drive in my gaming laptop and couldn't be happier.

Cons: i question the lifespan of these qlc nand drives but its the going trend for larger capacities

Other Thoughts: seemed like a good value bought the 2 terabyte version

Horrible service. When did Newegg shipping become total garbage?

Pros: Despite the very late delivery, I did finally get this thing. I'm using it for my Steam library and that 2TB is barely large enough to hold it. The performance is satisfactory. I"m happy to have all those games off the hard drive they were previously on. They load much faster now. I will likely keep an eye out for a larger version of this in the future.

Cons: Ordered 2TB M.2 almost a month ago. I live in Utah and the product is coming from California. It's still not here. Update: (it's here)

Amazing deal if you use it for it's intended purpose

Pros: - High capacity (up to 2TB)
- Low Cost
- High speed
- M.2 NVME

Cons: - Does not benchmark well due to architecture
- Slow for very large singe transfers

Other Thoughts: This drives performs well in situations with normal read/write patterns. Because the high-density multi-voltage write technology is slower than lower density technology, it uses a fairly large high-speed write cache, but if you overflow that cache, the speed drops off substantially.

In normal use (booting, copying files, reading) the drive performs amazingly. It will slow down after really large writes such as drive cloning, moving multiple large files at once, or... benchmarks. That is the nature of this technology,

A small price to pay for not facing the myriad of issues caused by tiny boot drives.

Great product for the money - huge capacity and very good speeds

Pros: I used it in an external enclosure and I heave achieved 10Gb/s (1GB/s) read/write benchmarks. The 10GB/s are a limitation by the enclosure interface/protocol. Transferring huge 12BG files externally with over 560MB/s - no problem. You may virtualise computers in an enclosure and they are responsive with the speeds mentioned, as if the SSD was inside the computer/laptop.

Cons: It heats when you transfer huge files or when you work with virtual computers in an external enclosure (which is normal). That is why you are going to need a good enclosure which dissipates the heat well or you may need some kind of heat sink if you use it inside a PC or laptop.
Intel is using a technology that is not using the complete cells until the drive start to be full, this is giving performance and speed to it. According some authors and tests they have done, when the drive is more than 2/3 or 3/4 full the speed performance drops significantly (but you can afford it, because the drive is big enough - 2TB). I haven't experience this until now.

Other Thoughts: For the ratio money/performance/capacity I don't think there is a drive that can beat this one.

Would not use as boot drive, but great for media storage

Pros: This replaced my media HDD in my main rig. (Boot drive is 512GB 970 Pro.) System now boots to login in only a couple of seconds. Read speeds are ~700MB/s copying to the 970.

Cons: Write speeds, on the other hand ... I knew this going in and bought specifically for WORM use. Writes dropped well below 100MB/s during the HDD transfer, meaning the SSD was the bottleneck.
