My mb is ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z97 I'm a newb and this is my first build so keep that in mind. I want to use this ssd as my primary on this mb so will I have any compatibility issues? And what if anything do I need to do in my bios to get the most out of this ssd?

This is an enterprise grade SSD that talks standard protocols. You *should* not have any issues. I bought 12 of them several months ago, they are in heavy use in production servers in one our data centers with no issues. Hope this helps. Best, Dave
