Modernize on Intel® infrastructure
Efficient IT infrastructure starts with industry-leading server technology. New Intel® Xeon® processors reduce server space, cooling costs, and energy use, while the Intel® 10GbE Server Adapter simplifies network design and storage complexity. Industry trend assessments show that adopting high-ambient temperature designs raises optimal temperature set points, which significantly reduces data center cooling and power utilization costs.

Pros: These are the bee-knees. I still peg the cpu(s) with stuff I process, but compared to my 2 generation old (i7 965) cpu with only 4 cores.. these twin beauties run something like 8-9 times faster. (with just one I guess it would be 4.5 times faster)
Cons: Had real problems getting these to run due to a required firmware update in the bios for v2 chips. Problem was, I needed an old chip that fit the socket type to get my new machine to boot. I didn't have one. So I took it to a dealer who did. Talk about a pain, though took me days and days to get it resolved. Hopefully no one else has to go through that. But now that it's good and running. All is well!
Overall Review: Seems like bang for the buck is there as long as you put it together yourself. if Id gotten a more normal computer it would have been 1.5-1.75ish times faster than my old machine. so considering this cpu has 12 cores, thats 3 of those machines. its really like I bought a bunch of machines rolled up in to one.
