Question 1

How does it get power? There is no cord or input in the pictures.

The AC/DC adaptor plugs in just to right of the HDMI out. I see today the pictures on the site doesn't show it being there but, on mine it's there.

The input is on the left ANT in & out. I use the composite because I feed it to a three diff. TVs. One just to far away to use the the HDMI without additional cost for baluns.

I have used the record to HDD & can view the show on it or on a PC.

The caveat is QAM used with cable It's unable to get the time & date like it does for OTA. OTA is programmable but on cable you have to start stop the recording yourself because of the lack of time & date just can't get or manually set the time & date.

In short it does OTA best but, limited functions on QAM/cable it does both one or the other at time.

Question 2

I don't have an antenna of any kind. I hook my coaxl cable right to my TV. In looking for a way to record. I just have regular Chanel's 7, 8. No 7.1 or anything. I have tried other products but none of them find my channels. Will this work?

Yes & no. OTAir "just have regular Chanel's 7, 8. No 7.1 or anything."  It will find your channels auto or manually. Also OTA channel guide. Recording yes you supply the external HD up to 2TBs.
OTA recording can be programmed as on set up it gets the time & dates along with the guide info.

Now QAM is a different story no time no date so no programming or guide also I would get none channels & have to go though to delete them.Limited  recording in QAM you have to manually start the recording & stop it. Have viewed it on my PC or burned it to a disc & yes it will play back to the TV on it's own (my TV QAM tuner are unable to get any info for the channels ether. Program info on only my cable provider tuner has some info but, also limited. The provider changes it to much so that info is just not there)

In OTA you get to use all the features not so on QAM. Auto channel search will only hold the the one you are on OTA only or QAM it's one or the other not both stored at the same time.

If there is a problem the company has firmware updates.

will the unit  record on a digital t v?

Yes.  OTA & Qam digital signal can be recorded. With OTA the menu, time/date & programmer work. Can set & record at later time. ( I'm guessing you meant the signal vs "on digital t v") 
BUT on cable Qam the time/date do not work. Time is set into a past date & time as it has no manual way to set the time & date it need info that it only gets from being on OTA. That's why it's almost impossible set the program for recording later on cable. HOWEVER you can manual start & stop recording yourself on Qam cable.
You get full function when used on OTA digital...limited on Qam cable.
Playback to your TV or hook it up the HDD to a PC & it will playback on it also. 
It does a lot for the money as I have bought converters that do not record which cost me around $50.

Note I have had the HDD not seen it tends to be USB cord into it that loosens up making for a bad connection at the HDD. A problem I had with a PC before it happened on the HDD I use with the iView.  What I did to make it work for the PC was to very very lightly squeeze the metal rim around the female in the HDD then plug cord into it which made for a snugger fit of the cable.

can this unit drive more than one analog tv ?

Yes, but they must watch the same channel.  You can use a splitter on the RF output to run multiple tv's.  This is in addition to the tv that you can hook to the Composite and HDMI ports.  Everything will still be watching the same channel though.

does it play *.mkv from usb source?

Think this is a tech question that needs to be answered by the manufacturer. If it does nos specify that it plays .mkv then it is not capable to do so. Otherwise is a factory issue and you should claim warranty.

I have a Toshiba HD TV which had great picture in picture.  The old converter box has gone out and I was wondering if this converter box would bring back the picture in picture capability again?  Will still need a converter box but was just wondering if it would work.  How about 2 converter boxes hooked up?  Thanks for the help.

Hi, since you own a HD TV I do not understand why you need a DTV converter box? anyways, about the product pointing here I own couple of these and had had no issues, actually this converter exceeded my expectation, as far of picture quality and features it offers, ad comparing it to other dtv converter boxes this one (iView 3200STB) is by far the best converter box I have owned.

Will this work with my Toshiba HD Rear Projection TV 46H84 made in 2005?

This converter will convert digital off-air signals, digital cable channels and QAM256 (Clear QAM) signals. You must have a good clean input signal within -30db to 15db for it to operate properly otherwise it will flash a signal screen often.
We use this product to convert cable signals to older televisions.
One caution that I will give is that there is a known audio compatibility issue with some Toshiba models. To the best of my knowledge, there is not a list available as to which models are affected.

What is the best indoor antenna to use with the iview 3200stb digital dtv converter box w/analog pass-through?

I've been using the Antennasdirect Clearstream 2V indoors along with a Winegard HDA-200 preamp (without the preamp, I cannot pick up decent signals & I am just under 30 miles from most of the towers in my area). I plan on locating the Clearstream 2V outdoors. just on the other side where it's at now, but for the last month it's been sitting on a small folding table in front of a South facing window. In our area we pick up all 62 local channels. Once the antenna is outdoors we'll pick up a total of 85 channels. Your mileage will vary depending on your location, but for us this small antenna (12" wide, 20" tall & 35" wide for the VHF dipole, 6.5" deep) did the trick. The earlier Clearstream 2 is not the same & cannot sit nicely on a table.

I am looking to use this to hook up my cable ( from service provider ) to " antenna  in " then" HDMI out" to hdmi in on  surround receiver and hdmi out  from  receiver to tv hdmi in on tv so I can get sound through my receiver speakers and cable channels on tv because my tv does not have audio out. Don't care about dtv converting just want cable service to pass thru and sound thru receiver. Will this work ?

i think so, as long as your cable box will output to a antenna channel so the iView and receive it.
