How do you go about installing it with no case? Just set it in there and hope for the best?

The motherboard manufacturer should have given you a screw which goes through one of the corner holes in the mSata board and into a metal standoff post (cylindrical with inside thread) about 1/4-inch tall and mounted on the motherboard.  The screw holds the mSata device parallel to the motherboard.   If you cannot find or procure the screw (search for "mSata screw") then take a very narrow  zip-tie, kink it by folding in half, and stuff it into the post.

Question 2

I have an HP laptop AMD A6 elite will a solid state hard drive work on my computer ?

This is considered msata memory, which is used in some thin type computers, pads and tablets but not as often in laptop computers or desktop computers. A quick look at your computers specs shows a regular 2.5" laptop drive. Unless your laptop accepts msata there would be no benefit to using msata and especially a 30gb module. You would be much better off with a 240gb 2.5" sata III drive as it would increase your laptops performance and give you added durability against shock damage. A 120gb is more reasonably priced but the space limitations of the 120 are soon felt if you do a lot of data saving. I personally prefer the HyperX line of SSDs and have used them in customer computers for over three years now.  UR Way Computers, Lindale Texas

Question 3

I would like to add this on a desktop for caching, only to speed up most often used programs ect. Does this card come with software to do that?

You'll need to get an adapter to plug this into for a standard desktop pc. I purchased this for a laptop that had this internal connector.
As far as software usage. That can be controlled via your O.S. or other software.
You can either treat it like an extra drive(once partitioned and formatted) and install programs to it like you would your system drive. 
Or you can use it as a swap disc for your operating system.

But I think it's best use is for a specific application or game that takes up a couple of gigs but that you need to have it perform lots of calculations. Like in a 3D app, CAD, or high res game requiring high frames per second.
