Does this work with a desktop?

Yes, it uses the same SATA power and data connectors as a desktop drive, but most desktops do not have mounting slots for a 2.5" drive.  You can purchase a 2.5 to 3.5" adapter kit for the mounting brackets, or you can jury-rig a mount with zip ties.

has anyone installed this SSD on a mac? does it work?

The UV400 tends to fail most bios smart reads.  Which means you will get a smart failure when booting the system, and have to hit F1 to continue.  If your Mac has one of those bios then it's going to say it failed.  We do not see this problem with the V300 at all.  I have installed hundreds of the Kingston's with a low failure rate.

How I know that it will work in my Dell laptop?

You don't say what model laptop you are using, but I have installed these in Dell's and others with no problems.  This SSD is 7mm, so it will fit even in the newest thin laptops.  The only problems I had were when cloning an existing drive, then having the boot fail on the SSD, but that may be a problem with the free cloning software I used.  They always work if I do a clean install of the OS.

I purchased this SSD to replace my existing stock series-5 Intel SSD. Using Intel I never had a slow/sluggish/"stuck"ky experience but after upgrade to Kingston I sometimes get a sluggish feel especially while performing certain bulky operations like moving large files over 4-5 gigs, working with Microsoft Outlook with over 15GB of emails etc. Anybody with similar experiences on this drive? If Yes, what is the remedy? Does Kingston has a firmware update to fix these issues?

I have this drive set up with two partitions; one for Win7 Pro and one for Win10 Home for a dual boot capability.  My system boots into Win7 in about 5 seconds and into Win10 about the same.  I keep all my data files on a 1TB Western Digital HDD so I avoid file movement with the SDD.  Uploading e-mail or downloading program files seems to be fairly quick but, again, that activity involves the HDD.  With a 6GB/ upper limit, I guess I am accustomed to the speeds I get with my system.  Bottom line: I have no complaints with my SSD.
