Does this include the spacer for larger laptop drive bays?

If you order a kit it would include the bracket to adapt to full sized drive bays.

Don't order a bare drive unless it specifically includes the bracket.

The term spacer would refer to the drive needing to be slightly thicker in a laptop drive bay so it does not bounce around. I do not think you need any spacers.

Does this come with software necessary to transfer OS over?

Not that I found, no. I searched Kingston's website, too, didn't find any such transfer software. I used Seagate Discwizard (free)to do the transfer, since the laptop's drive was a Seagate. Macrium Reflect does transfers, too, is also free, and isn't tied to certain HD manufacturers

Could I buy this and put an adapter on it to use it as an external back-up for my computer? (Connect it via USB if they make anything like that)  I don't like traditional hard drives for this use because they are too fragile.

I mean i personally would not use this as a back up but they do sell kits that can make it into an external drive it would be better and cheaper to use traditional drives for back up or just a 60 GB usb 3.0 stick for a back up if u are no into traditional drives using this as a back up would be a waste of what the drive can do i swapped this out for my laptop HDD to boost performance as i said before if you are looking for a back up drive than you should just used a large USB Flash stick for less chance of failure or data lost if you are looking for 60gb if not that much get like a 30 GB  or just go with a larger external i have a 3 TB external just for back up that works beautifully

Does all of the Kingston SSD Now Series SATA III come with the installation kit? Meaning the mounting brackets and screws and wires?

Only came with Ssd no hardware or wires. Also ran out of space quick with window. Bought the Kingston hyper x 120g and they came with brackets hardware and wires.raided up it runs way fast with the hyper's. Much quicker than v300 series.

What type of wire(s) would I need to make this work?

you do not need any wires. The drive is compatible with SATA specifications and has an appropriate connector attached. It plugs into the HDD port on your laptop.

You'll need to purchase one.  The only thing in the package was the SSD and the spacer for laptop installs.

can i install windows 8 and everything work properly or should i get a bigger drive? P.S. i have a 1TB drive also so thats not the issue.

Win 8 should install fine on a 60gig drive. Though if you have a spare conventional drive of 40 to 80 or larger you could install win 8 get all the drivers and updates and programs all set then clone to your SSD. That way you have a full backup should something go wrong. SSD s can have problems too, so a backup is a good thing to have.

I can't say for sure with a MAC.... generally I have found with MAC if you didn't buy it from Apple then something wont be right and it could put your warranty in danger

So does it or does it not come with "Convenient - all-in-one kits with all the components for easy installation", product description suggests it does? 
and if so is it for laptop/notebook? since it is listed under "laptop Accessories" you would think so?

It is for a laptop. The "components" is a spacer that thickens the disk to fit into laptops with a bit fatter compartment so that it doesn't rattle around. If you want to install it in a desktop, you'll have to buy a separate mounting converter. They are not very expensive. I have another SSD in my desktop that I use as a cache device in front of a mirrored pair, and it works great as well.
