Pros: The Lenovo IdeaPad A1 tablet connects quickly and reliably to wireless. It has good sound and good screen quality. It works well with Google Play apps, and apps perform with stability. It has a moderately good battery life. The GSP works well with Google Maps as long as that app is not updated. The update would not work, so stick with the original installation. The UBS connects well to a computer but not to anything else like a keyboard, external hardrive, flash drive. It's a nice size, and the physical button to lock orientation in place is useful.
Cons: Both cameras take mediocre photos and video. Best photos are taken outdoors, but you can't see the camera screen outdoors, so you are just guessing what photo you are taking. The Lenovo app shop will not work, even with a proper customer registration, but Google Play store is better anyway. A microSD card is hard to install and remove. The menu, home, and back keys are not easy to deal with--very easy to hit by mistake since they are backlit only after being hit. Have never seen any appliance that fingerprints so easily and completely even with pristine hands. The Newegg promo talks about having an HDMI connection, but this tablet does not.
Overall Review: Would recommend and buy again.
Pros: Nice Design, Affordable Price, Great for a first time tablet. The tablet came pre-loaded with some really good apps. Very intuitive. Keyboard is easy to use.
Cons: The micro-SD card is difficult to install. When I installed it the first time the device froze, but it could have been my fault. Built in music player is not the best, but I am currently looking for music apps to install.
Overall Review: As a new tablet user with computer experience, I know there are more powerful tablets out there. For the price and my needs this tablet is perfect. Apps download and install quickly with broadband private access. Battery life is good so far. I chose this tablet over the Kindle Fire
Pros: Two camera's, rear and front. Small form factor, making it easy to use. Solid build and feel. Simple interface.
Cons: Several, I have owned two of these now and had to return them both. I bought this for my wife and immediately she noticed the wifi was intermittent. The Ideapad A1 would drop signal every couple of minutes (my Vizio Vtab on the other hand does not do this). We returned one because of this issue, but the second had the same problem. My wife chose to live with that and despite the connectivity issue she grew to love the device, she used it all the time. Then a few days ago the OS crashed, a quick review on lenovo forums reveals this is a common problem relating to the proprietary app's lenovo installs on the A1. The only real fix is to reset the device to factory default in which you lose all your settings, files, pics etc. There are other fixes listed on the forums but the only true fix is to reformat. This issue combined with the connection issue is a deal breaker. We are returning the second A1 and will purchase another device with the credit newegg has agreed to give us.
Overall Review: Newegg takes care of their customers. I am a long time egger and I love this site. I have purchased parts to build several systems, plus various other devices including the lenovo A1 and the Vizio Vtab (which is a great value, no issues whatsoever). Others may disagree but by my experience if you want to purchase quality computer components or other electronic gadgets and receive excellent customer support, choose Newegg.
Pros: Good price, ready to work right out of the box. Size and shape are very convenient. Picture quality is acceptable. Wifi works well. Provided cable allows you to charge from the wall or USB. Battery life is good Included apps were good.
Cons: People complain about Home, Back button etc. being hard to find. It took a little getting used to, but is no longer a problem. Does not come with a case (got a good one. Easy to find) Sometimes the edges and corners of the screen are unresponsive. Typing is a challenge.
Overall Review: It was what I wanted. I've been using it as a reader, web surfing and games (Chess mostly) Beats the heck out of trying to do stuff on a tiny little phone.
Pros: good size auto connects to WiFi after first use full Android market nice price micro SD slot
Cons: bad viewing angles
Overall Review: Iuse this tab for email, reading, music, YouTube & other videos & Facebook, etc. This is no powerhouse but for the price ($199) it is very good as a tab for personal use with a few extras thrown in.
Pros: The screen resolution is great. User interface is simple. Android app store has everything I need.
Cons: Wireless stops and restarts frequently, this could also be a problem with my home router. Battery life could be better. Lenovo store crashes and won't update.
Pros: GPS functionality is excellent. Additional SD support enhances platform
Cons: Function keys require repeated touches to activate in Landscape display. Bottom edge of touch screen lacks sensitivity. Has front/rear cameras, but they don't work with basic tools like Skype
Overall Review: My kids bought me this as a gift specifically for the GPS and cameras as they intended to use Skype. The GPS is fine and I would have rated the overall product a 3-4 based upon performance, but the failure to work with Skype, and Lenovo's apparent apathy on resolving a problem with a major application is more than disturbing. As is, not only would I recommend against purchasing this tablet, I'd counsel you to avoid ANY Lenovo product. (why pay for a brand when the brand doesn't care if thier products work with common apps or not?).
Pros: This Tablet is the perfect size. I wanted gingerbread 2.3 on a 7 inch tablet so I could play all my games. The screen is great, built tough and the battery lasts a good 4-5 hours straight playing a game or two. Easy to find accessories for this tablet. The WIFI signal is very good, set up is very fast and easy. It fits in my purse so I can take it everywhere. Add a micro SD card and you can save all your apps on the card to keep the tablet fast. Thanks Lenovo
Cons: wasn't buy one get one free.
Overall Review: The price for this little unit was good, I Didn't want the newer android OS. I wanted gingerbread as it's the one you can play all the games on. When they start increasing the game library for the 3.0 and 4.0 I will consider one of those. But this tablet is perfect. If your looking for one you can take with you anywhere you will be very happy with this choice.
