Can this headset work without batteries and Bluetooth? Can I just connect it to my PC with USB and have it work as intended?

yes, but I would suggest getting the one with the hand controllers as it is difficult to find hand controllers for the Lenovo without purchasing a headset as well. Very few games work with the headsets without a hand controller. That being said games like Elite dangerous work wonderfully with the Lenovo headset and all you have to do is plug it in
