Pros: it's Virtual reality!! I bought this on sale, but I personally feel there is no pricetag on this experience. hell, if I knew that I wasn't the type of person to get motion sick I would've went for something higher end. I've obsessed over reviews for this thing while it was coming in the mail. I know all about the issues people are complaining about but none of this has effected me, I've used this for way longer than I should this past week, and I have not had any screen door effects. 0 motion sickness, and my batteries are perfectly fine in the controller! the hands track amazingly , maybe others don't have a good Bluetooth adapter, but I have noticed that the cheaper games don't track well. VR chat the hands we're super glitchy, but super hot and Pavlov (which doesn't even have 100% WMR support) have worked flawlessly. I've even shown this to my friends to disprove those allegations, I can very easily reach behind me and grab things without losing tracking. if you plan on getting this for games like VR chat than maybe get a better set. but I dont know how much better it would be for you. it's incredibly entertaining to dominate rec room paint ball because you're one of the pros who has free range to aim where your heart desires.
Cons: headset does feel a little heavy after a while. but I've still played this for over 5 hours in one session and was only a little sore afterwards. not a con for me, but the lenses can't be adjusted. so maybe that causes some people to have blurry vision in the game. I find that my vision hoes blurry when I put the headset wrong, try lowering the headset and getting your eyes to meet higher up with the lenses? that seems to work for me. the headset does support dabbing in video games but the floss doesn't work too well.
Overall Review: I've always dreamt of playing a VR game since I saw YouTubers at them way back when the Oculus was a prototype. honestly thought I'd grow out of gaming by the time it became more attainable but here I am!
Pros: - easy setup - no external sensors! BIG PRO! - it looks great and tracks well- if you can seal the sides up it could be the best out there? - easy setup - VR looked better than i thought it would! - light headset that fits well except the sides
Cons: - does not fit my head- its to wide and needs thicker foam to seal the sides $10 fix at lows maybe -
Overall Review: - Set this up last night so i am still testing and tweaking. - windows mixed reality works OK on a gtx 1050ti video card - recommend at least a 1060 - at this time it did not work with steam vr - needs an update?
Pros: none
Cons: Received DOA Manufacturer returns only so even though I did not get a product that works I need to work with Lenovo to repair a dead HMD
Overall Review: Would not buy again and would not have purchased if I realized I couldn't return a DOA product.
Pros: - Good screen resolution - Very portable and light - Tracking is decent considering there are no sensors. (Make sure to have very good lighting)
Cons: - The WMR software install is horrendous, took me two hours to get everything installed. - Got a dead pixel within a few hours of playing - Pretty noticeable screendoor effect
Overall Review: For the software install make sure you're all up to date on windows updates. My install froze when first setting it up and I had to fix up the errors in my windows install using /sfc scannow. Other people have had no issues setting it up, and others have spent days trying to. It's a hit or miss if it will be easy on your system.
Pros: Good head tracking, software is relatively easy to use, decent display
Cons: PAINFUL TO SET UP
Overall Review: Well to start off with it is pretty sturdily built. It has a nice finish on it and the plastic doesn’t feel cheap. Overall it feels nice in the hands and is comfortable when wearing. Onto the setup; upon receiving this I connected it to my main GPU, a GTX1060, and the monitor to another GPU, an R7 360. Everything launched normally. until windows mixed reality said the headset wasn’t connected. I switched the headset to the R7 and it found the headset. Setup continues until it needs to download some more files. It failed 7 times. Each time after downloading for well over one hour. Windows support was of no help in the matter. After installing countless updates and reading forums it finally installed correctly. Only to tell me it will only work if the main monitor and headset are plugged into the same card. Overall I would recommend the headset but be prepared for hours of aggravation and seemingly pointless tasks.
Pros: -Fast deliviery (express only took 2days to reach europe) -More comfortable than both Vive and rift -WMR portal is very well built -No need to mount any trackers -Controller tracking is perfect so far -Can play both Oculus & SteamVR games, although it may need some extra time to config
Cons: -Lack of IPD adjustment -Controllers drain batteries super fast (~5h) -Loses headset tracking easily if the environemt is not well lit -Duty and transport cost more than half the product for euro buyers, at least the amount is fixed and handled by newegg
Overall Review: Make sure you have bluetooth 4.0 beforehand to use the controllers- Asus usb-bt400 works well. Get some rechargeable batteries, apparently IKEA LADDA batteries are the best price/ performance.
Pros: Really well build headset. Easy to set up and use
Cons: IPD is fixed, and in my case not correct. So if your eyes are not aligned properly this will not work and there's no way to adjust it. So measure your IPD and check before you buy this. The downfall of this unit is no IPD adjustment.
Pros: Works Has potential for being awesome.
Cons: This headset comes without controllers. Didn't think that would be a big deal until I tried to order some separately. NOBODY HAS THEM. I finally found standalone controllers on a well known old-school auction site, whose name I can't use here because rules. I hope they work, because nobody - NOBODY - sells controllers by themselves any more. Except that one guy. On the site-which-shall-not-be-mentioned-because-rules. Technically, these work with only an Xbox Controller. If you want use any other apps or games, you will NEED the controllers. Which you can't get by themselves. Except from that one guy. On the horrid, unmentionable site. Buyer beware. You can't return this if you got it on sale. Do yourself a favor and buy the bundle, or don't buy at all.
Overall Review: Would not recommend.
