Cons: No batteries? But for $15, who cares!? Not me!

Overall Review: Seems new aside from feet which appeared to have been lightly used. It's $10 just to buy the unifying receiver by itself! A worthy replacement for my tired VX Revolution which is darn near 7 years old. It still functions great aside from the left-click being worn out. 7 years of 100% dependable usage, and that ladies and gentlemen is why I only use Logitech mice/keyboard/speakers.

Pros: The M705 is a well designed ergonomic mouse which uses the Logitech's Unifying Receiver technology.

Cons: The unit was worn and quite dirty. The laser diode was loose so the mouse did not track. There was no Unifying Receiver included.

Overall Review: I buy refurbished products on a pretty regular basis. I've come to expect some signs of prior use and even an occasional product which needs a little extra cleaning. Even with those expectations, I'm extremely disappointed with the M705 I received from NewEgg. As best I can tell, this unit wasn't refurbished, renewed or cleaned in any meaningful way. Upon opening the package, I immediately noticed the palm rest of the mouse was smeared with something like peanut butter. The scroll wheel was caked with dust, food residue and hand oils from the previous owner. And the scroll wheel's axle was clogged with what I'm guessing is cat hair. After wiping off the exterior with a Clorox wipe, I opened the battery door to install the batteries. According to the manual on Logitech's website, the Unifying Receiver should have been in a storage slot below the battery door, but the receiver was neither there nor in the package. This would be a show-stopper except I already own another Logitech mouse (M325) which also uses the Unifying Receiver. Although I was able to get the M705 to pair with the M325's receiver without problem, the mouse tracking would not work regardless of the surface I tried. I flipped the mouse over to power cycle it again and noticed an open space where I'd expected the laser diode would be. A quick search of the web turned up instructions for opening the case of the M705. With the case open, the problem was rather plain to see. The laser diode dangling freely in the case, held in place only by it's ribbon cable. I snapped the diode into place and temporarily reassembled to test. Success! I cleaned and fully reassembled the mouse then promptly sat down to write this review. Bottom line: Despite a considerable price break compared to the new units, the refurbished M705 simply isn't worth it. Save yourself the headache and buy a new unit instead.

Pros: "Refurbish : to brighten or freshen up", according to Miriam-Webster. This mouse was neither brightened, nor freshened up; it was dead. I love this mouse. I own three of them. This was to be my fourth, but alas, it was not to be.

Cons: This one was DOA. Poor little fella never had a chance. It probably died from being handled by the previous owner's filthy, unwashed hands, judging by the state it was in when it came to me. And to add insult to injury, the Newegg/UPS cost to RMA it was almost half the cost of the product.

Overall Review: First time ever that I have received a faulty product from Newegg, but it was also my first time ever buying refurbished goods from Newegg. Lesson learned. Still love you, Newegg, but in the future, I shall be less inclined to throw caution to the wind.

Pros: Cheaper than new

Cons: Never was refurbished. Horribly used, scratched, dirty (seriously disgusting). Didn't work. Recognized by computer, but pointer didn't move.

Overall Review: I've purchased other refurbished M705 mice from other vendors, and they've all worked fine and were cleaned before selling. I'm returning this one...hopefully the replacement is better.

Pros: Normally a great mouse. Been using one on another computer for a year.

Cons: Mine came heavily used. It was very dirty and covered in scratches. There was no receiver. Useless. I'll pay the extra $20 for a new one next time.

Overall Review: I regularly order refurbished gear from other retailers and this is the worst "refurbished" item I have received by far.

Pros: I received this product in perfect condition. It came in a generic Newegg box wrapped in clear plastic wrap protected by a thick layer of paper with my invoice at the bottom. For $15, I am so impressed at what I received for the price I paid. I took it out of the plastic wrap and did a visual inspection to the body of the mouse. Everything was in good condition including the buttons and the hyper scroll wheel. Under the battery door, I found the Unifying Receiver tucked nicely in the slot. This is the first refurbished peripheral I bought from Newegg. There were no scratches or oil residue, but to be safe I used 91% Isopropyl alcohol to completely wipe down the entire mouse and an airbrush to give it a dust clean. The surface may look clean, but I always wipe used products before using them because who knows what germs can be on there that has been passed down from the previous user. After I cleaned and wiped it down, I plugged the Unifying receiver into my netbook, inserted two heavy AA batteries I had, fired up the mouse, and used the Unifying software to link up the mouse to the receiver. All went well after that. Left and right click works, left and right scrolling, side buttons, middle scroll button, all functions properly like they should. The hyper scroll function and tracking also works like it should.

Cons: I cannot find any major flaws about this particular M705 I received. But as for some of the previous reviewers, it really bothers me when they say the mouse and receiver doesn't work without mentioning any further details. Perhaps the mouse just needed to be reprogrammed to the receiver through the Unifying software. If so, this is a very VERY simple process and it is not even the right reason to give this product a bad review. Assuming that is the reason to why the mouse doesn't work, this is the fault of the user.

Overall Review: A few weeks ago, I purchased a new M705 for $39.99 for my main system. To be honest, I think this refurbished M705 is actually in better condition than the new one. They both work exactly the same and exactly how they should. From this experience, I am so impressed with my purchase that I am now more confident in buying more refurbished products.

Pros: DOA. However, very nice mouse after receiving new unifying receiver. I love the freewheeling scroll wheel. Mouse is very comfortable from the ergo aspect

Cons: I've bought many refurbished items, and this is probably my worst experience with a refurbished item. I received the mouse quickly, but the unifying receiver was DOA. I started the RMA process with Newegg, but based on the RMA process and my belief that I had a fair chance of getting another non-functioning receiver, I chose to pursue getting a replacement receiver through Logitech. Logitech agreed to send a new receiver, which solved the issue. My other complaint is that the pads on the bottom of the mouse look like they'd been chewed on - again not exactly what I'd expect on a "refurbished" product.

Overall Review: Bottom line: the mouse was cheap. I got what I paid for. Once I invested effort and waited for the new receiver to arrive, I got a decent mouse. Based on other reviews, my experience is not unique. The mouse is a nice mouse. Buying this mouse as a refurbished mouse is taking a 50/50 chance on getting a usable product. Kudos to Logitech for quickly rectifying the issue.

Pros: Great mouse, if you already have a unifying receiver.

Cons: No unifying receiver included, makes it useless.

Overall Review: I already own and love my Logitech M705 mouse, so I bought a refurb to use on a second computer. Without the unifying receiver, though, it's kind of useless.
